Not all of the books listed are Biblically sound, so it is advisable that one not rely on this book to direct them to books that 'must be read'. Read a
Bible first & then ask The Lord to give you discernment about Biblical truths. Then you may know whether to read a book to enrich your faith or which books to avoid. Some examples of books to steer clear of would be those authored by Thomas Merton, Fulton J Sheen, Norman Vincent Peale, Robert H. Schuller, Henri Nouwen, Charles Colson, Richard
Good book. Needs to be renamed to emphasize emphasis on American/British Evangelical - mostly ignored Orthodox and Catholic works. Generally good choices - I'd quibble with a few. Well written summaries of only a page or two, explaining the importance of the book. Definitely recommended.
A list of books that were influential or had an impact in some way during the twentieth century. Each book is briefly summarized along with why it made an impact or how it was influential. A brief background of the author is also given. It was interesting to see what books made the list. The Chronicles of Narnia, A Wrinkle in Time, In His Steps, as well as several Bible handbooks and theology books.

I bought this book in September 2006 and read about 2/3 of it, after which it got lost in a pile of other books that needed reading. What I want to do with it is read (or at the very least, browse through) all of the books outlined in this text. Sounds like a long-term project ... I'd better get started so I'm not dead before I finish!
Took note of some suggestions... looking forward to reading some.
