I am sorry to say I found this book a bit of a trial to read - although I did want to finish it to find out what happened to the characters so they did interest me. I found it a little coy me the humour passed me by. It is based on misunderstandings by a number of people - of whom Bernadette is the more dense. It is a study of people who are not very nice in how they react to other people.

I enjoyed this book as I did the two others of hers that I have read. It helps that I remember the lilt of her voice as she spoke at the 2008 London BookCrossing Convention.
