Recommends it for: parents reading with their children
This is a colorful story about some Menehune on the Big Island of Hawaii. They find and egg and are eager to eat it, but a Nene goose hatches before they can do so. The story continues as the goose grows and it's a nice story to read aloud to children. It's perfect for telling children a little bit about the islands within the context of the tale.
