Yeah, I actually read this. It wasn't completely terrible. It's a short story with no real ending, although I feel like the complete story could have been told and it would have been better. I'm certainly not paying .99c to read the other short stories, and I doubt it was even worth it for 20 odd pages (I downloaded this for free from Amazon). Although I feel that the use of a robot fuck toy was completely not taken advantage of. It could have been so much better. Instead it was... well... kinda ...more

"Why I Do Robots, Not Men 1" by Delilah D'lishus is a surprisingly entertaining and well written short story. Part of a serialisation this is just the beginning of a longer whole and tells us the story of Jessica, who in 2036 decides to replace the ex-boyfriend who has left her with a deluxe robot - satisfaction guaranteed.

The idea and concepts are interesting. Jessica no longer believes in men after her father abandoned her and her fiancé dumped her for some petty excuse, so she orders a perfect robot which can meet her needs in every aspect. Nathan is the best thing she ever has when this beautifully built robot arrives on her doorstep.
