A very helpful book for anyone who has some issues to forgive. The book explains why forgiveness is important and how to do it, and what forgiveness is not. The author is a Christian therapist and approached the issue of forgiveness from that angle. He's had a lot of experience working with people who had unresolved issues they needed to forgive, and shared some of their stories with us. There are references to the Bible throughout this book.

The book is based on a prayer that covers all aspects

Have misplaced this. Don't know if I lost it in one of the many hotels we stayed at along our journey, but if so this is the only 'casualty' of our recently long journey through 8 states. And again if that is the case, I can't help thinking someone else must have needed this sooner than I did. Of course I'll have to pick up another copy eventually... What I had read of it was very, very good, and I have read quite a number of books on forgiveness. Can yo

“Understanding is used too often as a convenient means to avoid and sidestep the process of acknowledging the hurts and wounds (which makes forgiving more effective). We cannot truly forgive until we admit that the offense is as wounding as it really is, and therefore really does need to be forgiven. When understanding becomes the substitute not only for forgiving but for sharing about feelings, healing does not occur.” 2 likes
“What joy it brings to believe in a loving God who is fully invested in us and hopes for the same from us. When we choose to forgive, we are proclaiming that relationship.” 0 likes
