This book isn't life-changing, it probably won't make you run out and fall in love with the next guy you meet, but the main character is somewhat interesting, her romantic exploits are easily relatable and the ending is satisfying. Unfortunately, I never really warmed up to her enough to really care about her plight. It is not that she's a terrible character, it's just that her voice is a little off-putting. I also found her mother and her younger sister to be somewhat unbelievable as characters...more

Okay so perhaps it isn't the most stimulating read for you intellects out there but its sure to emit a chuckle or perhaps even a lol here and there.
I read it on vacation and was really happy with how quickly it flowed and easy it was to put down and pick back up. Jordan is some one I think everyone can relate to, we all have some aspect of our lives that we wish we could forget or something from our past that we wish we could do-over. Sure some aspects may be unbelievable to some. Her mother...more

I love the idea of this book, and I've read a couple of pages so far, and laughter has occured. Very promising ;)
Here I was enjoying the book a lot. One of the guilty pleasures. Girl gets hit in the head, girl fakes amnesia to get out of her life of 'doormat days', girl falls for guy who hits her, dilemna....I was thoroughly enjoying the book until this moment. Well, the moments after the dilemna. How to get herself out of this mess? Then Jordy gets hit in the head again, gets amnesi...more

I just finished reading Forget About It By: Caprice Crane. I loved this book. This book kept my interest from the beginning to the end. I was sad when the book ended I didn't want it to end at all. This was the first book I've read by this author and it will not be the last. If this book is on your TBR or TBB list you should move it to #1 on the list. I definitely look forward to reading more books by this author. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good laugh out loud read that will ...more

This book revolves around a thought that would tempt anyone who's been stuck in a rut with no idea how to fix your life: what if you could use amnesia as an excuse to become a different person? Jordan does exactly this by faking amnesia after a minor accident. The new Jordan, who as far as everyone else knows isn't burdened with the memories of her past behavior, can get away with rejecting her role as family doormat, can refuse to let her coworkers take advantage of her, and can ditch her che...more

witty and entertaining. about a girl who is so tired of being a doormat that when she is hit by a car on her bike she decides to fake amnesia and start over. in the process she ends up falling for the boy who hit her. it is a quick, easy read and while it has its typical chick-lit moments it's not overly predictable - in fact, there is a little twist about three quaters through.
final word - read it before the movie comes out, starring scarlett johansson. i think it lends itself easily to a sc...more

This book had its moments, and a nice quotable line--but it was just okay. it's hard to root for a main character who is so weak she has to rely on deception to try to straighten out her life, and several of the developments I saw coming miles away. there WAS one shocking twist--but it was probably so unexpected because it was so implausible. so, just okay. read it if you want to kill some time. just don't go in with high expectations, or you might be disappointed.

Okay, pretty good actually - Crane is funny and Jordan is very sympathetic. Got a bit tired of things towards the end and sort of skimmed the last couple of chapters (gotta agree with the reviewer who said that it really could have been about 60 pages shorter), but it has a great and funny ending. Jordan's family is a complete nightmare, I'll say that much, and Dirk? Well, if there is a guy out there that douchey, I pity the poor lass who dates him.

What a funny, funny book. The beginning is a little slow, and...I guess can make you feel a little bit miserable for this main character (can THAT many things go wrong in one person's life? I mean really). But, soon enough, the book literally spirals and gets better and better. And I promise you will find yourself laughing out loud at least once (you won't be able to stifle it). It's a feel good book if you want a light read.

I liked "Stupid and Contagious" more than this book, but I still piled through it in one day with no regrets. While it doesn't follow the chick lit genre tightly, it certainly had the "Bridget Jones" moment that made me roll my eyes just a bit. The quirky and funny voice of the character shines through, making this a quick read. It's a fine read if you're looking for something light but engaging.

This is a complete fluff book and you do have to ignore a few swear words, but it's pretty funny dialogue and a cute story. The author is a former writer for SNL I think plus her mom is Tina Louise (Ginger from Gilligan's Island). It's about a girl who's fed up with her mom and sister and lame boyfriend and job. She pretends to have amnesia to "get away from all her responsibilities."

Where can I buy my own selective amnesia?!!?!? Seriously who wouldn't love to start fresh with their life?!?!No baggage no set role to play in any of your personal dynamics?!?!
I really like how this one was written and the journey we get to go on with this character...
The fun the growing self confidence, to the fear & uncertainty... and on to the happy ending.

I have to admit that I didn't finish it. It was an ok book but when another came in from the library that I'd been waiting for, it wasn't great enough to make me want to finish it.
I also think the amnesia story line was too soon after reading the same one just a week or so ago. Just bubblegum, but ok bubblegum if that's what you're in the mood for reading.

I thought this book was entertaining. Ofcourse I'm SO OVER heroines who have the entire world in love with them and are so awesome and blah blah blah. Note to female writers--STOP THAT. It doesn't make a character endearing, it always takes away from the story in fact. anyway, besides that, I enjoyed the book and think she has a great ear for dialogue.

The premise of this book is a little out there... however, if you can just accept that and move on, it is a fun read. I find that Crane has a great writing style - lots of witty humor. The characters are funny, quirky and it had me laughing out loud again on the bus (maybe not quite as much as her first book but it was still really funny!)

Chick Lit
There were parts of this book that made me want to scream cuz I didn't understand how the main character could be such a doormat. But the twists and turns and the self-discovery that all chick lit books have really made me like this book so much. The characters, although some absolutely horrible souls, were great. I really liked this book

Well, I loved her last book and was so excited to read this one. There's still some evidence of the witty dialogue but the premise of the story wound up getting INCREDIBLY improbable, even for chick lit. There were pages I skipped. Never a good sign. But I still enjoyed it, just not NEARLY as much as her other book.

This was truly a beach read for me (sand is still stuck to a few of the pages) - the plot left a lot to be desired (successfully faking amnesia to escape a so-so life? yeah, sure....)but the writing was fun and quirky. All in all, not the best or worst beach read...especially when you don't have high expectations.

It was good. Decent writing, with some bumps and sidewinds they may be improbable -- but if you ride with it its like a sitcom series with a loveable main character. The book is a great look at human dispositions and the value we let others place on us -- and what actions show and don't show love.
Good read.
Good read.
