A prequel to the Crimson Shadow series

"Our sin would change everything."

There was something different about Joseph Stryker.

I knew I shouldn't have gotten involved, but the way he looked at me called to me. It was unnatural, inhuman, and more importantly...
unforgettable.

****

The origin story of Xander Stryker's (Crimson Shadow series) parents and the backstory of how

I want to start off by saying, what an excellent way to start off 2014 and being the first to write a review is quite an honor.

This story is about the legendary 'Joseph Stryker', and what a legacy he had too. I was totally blown away by this very exciting and fun read, which of course, I have been waiting for for a while now. This author has yet to disappoint me with her writing and this is by far my favorite story yet. I loved the story of Joseph and Emily and loved how it gives us an insight t

Shelves: arc, 2014
I received this ARC to give an honest review.

First let me say I love this cover so sexy and perfect for the novella. Now on to the story. If you have read the Crimson Shadow series by Nathan than you might want to understand how his parents met and fell in love. This is their story, short, and to the point.

When Emily saves Joseph their whole live changes. Joseph can not keep Emily out of his mind and neither can Emily. Though Joseph knows it is wrong to not only fall in love with a human which w

This was an entertaining read! I have not read Crimson Shadow yet, this is a prequel novella to that book. I received the book as an ARC and was told you wouldn't need to read Crimson shadow first and I found that to be very true! I didn't feel as though I was missing anything at all! Now that I'm finished with this one though, I definitely will go read Crimson Shadow to learn about Xander Stryker.

I truly enjoyed Joseph and Emily's story. It had romance, sexiness, heartbreak, and a little humor

This is a very short story that not only introduces us to key characters in the Crimson Shadow series, but gives us important information about the purpose of the Odin clan. We meet Emily and Joseph Stryker when she finds him injured in an alley. After a few protestations that he would be fine, Joseph leaves the alley. Emily is confused by her reaction to him when she's never before felt drawn to a man showing interest in her.

Back at the Odin clan's mansion, Joseph continues his work of building

This short prequel to the Crimson Shadow series tells the story of Xander's parents, Joseph Stryker and Emily. I thought it was beautifully done and really shed some light on the type of relationship and the incredible love the two had for each other. This book definitely has something for everyone as, despite its short length, it's stuffed full of action, heartbreak, love, loss and hope. If I had to make one complaint it would be that I wished the book could have been longer, as I could read a ...more

I'm normally am fairly upbeat & positive when giving my reviews. This was entertaining & slightly enjoyable. I really think it should have been reviewed more closely than it had. There were way too many questions for me to even give it my average of a 3. To me this book reminded me of a fairly cool action 'B' movie. I like 'B' movies, I just like renting them via library versus store or even buying them.

Megan J. Parker lives in upstate New York in a small town that no one can spell or pronounce. She is normally found either hanging in her home with her fiancée, Nathan, and two evil cats that believe they are the kings of the house, or on campus at the local college sitting in the art rooms with her face plastered to the Mac-lab computers.

On her down time, she likes reading and designing new logos
