The 2nd book and follow up to Grace & Luca’s book in Michelle Smart’s Irresistible Sicilians Trilogy which tells the story of Car (Grace’s best friend a & Pepe, Luca’s brother (…what an unfortunate Italian name…never met any Italian man with that name….and to be honest I did not like it…I had this vision in my head of photo 1d828fbe-069a-486f-bbd1-1c4ce9af3ec5_zpsd8424489.gif

Cara and Pepe have a hot one night stand. Four months later Cara is back and pregnant proclaiming Pepe is the father of her child. Pepe won't believe her until he has the DNA test but he won't let her out of his sight either until the baby is born.

I adore virginal shy heroines and Cara was all that plus she was vulnerable and loving as well! Hero was super sexy, a notorious playboy with trust issues due to his childhood sweetheart who cheated on him and then aborted his child.

I haven't picked up an HP in over two months. I decided to break this dry spell with this book.It came highly recommended to me by my HP pal Jenny.I was a bit leary to read this book because I was burned by this author's first novel. So I dug in.Imagine to my suprise and delight when I became so involved in this couple's journey to HEA.
Pepe seduced Cara four months ago in Dublin, his aim was to obtain the whereabouts of his brother's missing wife.Goal accomplished,he leaves Cara sleeping with her

'D find that ridiculous, but she was pathologically shy and awkward so never our there, and hero became familiar to her through his brother's marriage to her best friend so she loosened up.

He treats her horribly, first by using her, taking her virginity, then ditching her and stealing her phone....making her feel used and humiliated. He really was a swine to her that weekend, even
I feel like the odd woman out on this one. I liked it, but I didn't love it.

The hero was a bit too much of a spoiled, selfish playboy. He does grow and realizes his petty complaints about parents who clearly loved him were nothing compared to what the heroine went through her in her family. I suppose I never really saw him as an alpha, but rather the perpetual younger son.

It was clear to me throughout that the heroine was most definitely the emotionally stronger of the two despite her extreme s

Anyone that reads romance books will know the story of unexpected pregnancy leading to unplanned marriage and if we're lucky love found.

This is what this book is about BUT, Michelle Smart has told it from a whole new perspective and with a much deeper emotion, so deep it tore my heart to shreds.

The read tells of Cara and Pepe, their one night of ultimate passion leads to her showing up at his front door four months later to announce she's expecting his child. Deep in his heart Pepe knows she is

This was just an amazing and emotional read. It had everything you could ask for in an angsty read. Cara is the shy best friend of Grace from the first book in the series. Pepe is the irresponsible playboy brother of Luca. There is an incident in the 1st book that mentions Pepe and Cara and it is that incident that triggers off this story.

Pepe has reasons why he avoids commitment and his reaction to Cara's pregnancy is enough to make us hate him if we weren't wondering just why. Cara is broke bu
Okay first of all Pepe really? This story was okay. I had a hard time forgiving the hero for sleeping with the heroine just to steal he phone. Then I kept wanting her to walk out on this demands that she live with him until the baby was born, giving up her entire life just to get some child support later. He kept saying that she would never be able to find him to get a DNA test later if she didn't go with him now. Which just seemed bogus to me. After all he was well known and wasn't a low life o ...more

Cara and Pepe had an unforgettable night together. In matter to help his brother to know where Grace was, Pepe charged his self to seduce Grace's best friend, Cara. Little did he know that one weekend would change their life forever.

Pepe's captured as a playboy, hopped from one bed to another easily and without conscience. But he had his own secret why he became a cynical-kind-of-gigolo-man. So when Cara told him that she's pregnant with his baby, he tried like hell to deny it and force a patern

“Cara, losing our baby has broken my heart. Our child was more than a dream. You were more than a dream, and you’s broken me. I don’t know how to go on. I’m lost without you. I’m..”

Pepe used Cara to help his brother Luca find his missing wife, her best friend, Grace. He spent a dirty weekend with her, took her virginity and walked away. Four months later, she’s at the christening of Luca and Grace’s baby and has to tell the hated Pepe that he is about to become a father.

This actually made me tear up. Twice.

The major plot points are that Pepe seduced Cara too find out where his SIL was. She, of course, gets pregnant. She tracks him down to lay into him and lay down the news. Due to some serious baggage on his end, he refuses to believe and forces her to move in so he can keep an eye on her until the baby comes. Cara has her own baggage that does not allow him to trust him. Their backstories were very well done, I thought.

Angsty read where the heroine actually ac
The Sicilian's Unexpected Duty is about a how a hookup turns into a romance and the clash between modern sexuality and traditional romance.

I wanted to love this book. It has tropes I like- devious wealthy alpha heroes, heroines whose only lover is the hero and pregnant heroines. Unfortunately the heroine's inconsistency and prickly attitude ruined a potentially great read.
Also, there was no chemistry between the hero and heroine but there was great wit.

More on what annoyed me- the heroine. She
Oh, dear. Another one-night-stand. Not my favorite way for the action to start. Actually the action starts with the consequences of that one-night stand and the heroine seeking out the hero, Pepe. (Pepe, really? I'm probably pronouncing it wrong in my head, but it just doesn't sound right for an HP hero.) Anyway, Pepe has done our gal wrong and won't own up to it - not just the baby, but stealing her phone and using her. That's a pretty big hurdle for this reader to forgive. This is a wonderful book that really touched my heart. You have to read all of this book, not stopping half way through to be touched by it's words.
In this book I could feel the passion, anger at times, romance, sparks, and yes I could feel love. I loved the way the two spared with one another. It was also touching the way Pepe cared, and tended to Cara. Both had a past that shaped them, and made them into the people they became. The love, and friendship helped to heal the broken hearts, and mad

Pepe was born into a loving family who allowed him to be their favorite. However Pepe always felt like the spare because his older brother Luca shouldered the family responsibilities from a young age after their father died. Pepe traveled extensively with the family business. Pepe liked his adventurous life and after having his heart broken when he was 18, Pepe built up legions of lovers and ex-lovers and never thought seriously about any of them. He despised children, his young love had seen to ...more

A delightful installment of the Irresistible Sicilians featuring Pepe, Luca's brother and Grace's best friend Cara. Luca and Grace were the main characters in #1 What a Sicilian Husband Wants.

I downloaded this immediately after finishing installment #1.

Cara is mentioned in #1 when it's found out that Pepe stole Grace's phone to enable Luca to track Grace down... well #2 goes into more detail about what actually happened the night Pepe and Grace met and the consequences which Cara lets Pepe know

When innocent Cara Delaney spent a wild weekend with sexy Sicilian Pepe Mastrangelo, she definitely got more than she bargained for. Not only did he leave her high and dry without so much as a goodbye, but she's found herself tied to him for the rest of her life - with an unexpected pregnancy. Deciding that he should be held accountable for his responsibilities, she approaches him with a deal - he provides for her and the baby financially and she'll leave him well alone. Except Pepe has his own ...more

I decided to read this right after I’ve finished reading book 1. And I’m glad that I did. Pepe and Cara have been seen/mentioned in the first book and I was thrilled to not only see they would be getting a book, but would be paired together. Right from the beginning I was sucked into the story and couldn’t put it down. Why is that I enjoy it to no end when a couple is at odds with one another? I love it when they fight maybe because it’s a passionate emotion of some kind and I know bur

There was nothing I didn't like about this book - damaged hero, heroine though who admits to extreme shyness fights for her life and that of her child and great emotional depth from both.

Lovely location of Paris too and lots of art and history of art references.

I loved this book.

Always, always enjoy Ms Smart's books, which are on my 'automatic buy' list, because she never fails to deliver. Pepe, to quote, is a bit of a 'git', at first--which makes for great reading. The more gittish the hero, the harder he falls, always worth watching! Cara hold her own against him, with quiet dignity. No spoilers, but the tragic moment is handled with considerable sensitivity. A hugely engaging read!

Warning! - Tissue Alert

The emotion in this sensational read made me cry buckets. Author Ms Smart has an honesty to her writing that draws you in. In fact there were some scenes I never thought I would enjoy reading until I absolutely did.

Pepe Mastrangelo starts off as a hero I shouldn't really like, but ended up loving him. In book one of the series it was obvious that he stands in his brother's shadow and in this book you discover how dark those shadows are. Cara Delany and her pregnancy are pr
