The Lover’s Game was one clusterf*#k of the word: C.O.M.P.L.I.C.A.T.E.D.

In here, we have lies, secrets, betrayal, steam

and one hell of a roller coaster of ups and downs!!

I’d be lying if I were to say that this book was easy to process because it wasn’t. You essentially have one person holding the deck of cards and one person trying to put the puzzle together.

How many times can your heart shatter? How many times can your trust be broken before you no longer feel like yourself? You only feel like a piece of something you used to be.

I absolutely love Brooke and Jett, but they are stressing me out! After reading the intense prologue, I was already having anxiety about this relationship. I just want them to be happy dammit! No more deceit, no more mystery, and no more games. My heart breaks for these two. It’s a passionate, intense, and real love that

“Your name?” he asked. Even the way he asked me screamed dominance, as though he was entitled to all—not just my name but also my body and mind.
“Jenna,” I said my sister’s name without hesitation and stretched out my hand in what I thought was a confident manner, though truthfully, all my confidence had flown out the door the moment he had turned his gaze on me. He made nervous, even more so because he was hard and beautiful.
Beautiful to look at, hard to hold on to.

The Lover's Game was a romance book and mystery book all rolled in one. Every time I thought I had some small piece of it figured out, it would all get twisted around all over again. There was always a new curve-ball being thrown, and a new discovery being unveiled. While I hated Jett in book 1, in this one I started to love him. The way they fight, I know they care about each other.

My heart goes out to Brooke. She is hormonal, because of her pregnancy, but her day of dealing with her situation
I liked that Brooke was standing up for herself in the book but on the other side there was not much of jett in the book plus I am just ticked off at the club scene I man how the hell do you not recognize your baby daddy.

This picked up right where The Lover’s Secret ends. Brooke is trying to get on with her life. She does not want to see Jett. It is over even thought she is pregnant. Brooke is unable to forgive him for the lies and cheating. But there seems to be more to the story than what Jett is telling her.

Brooke realizes that she must find another job. She has to completely end things with Jett. It is for the best. She must do what she can to save what little bit of her heart is left.

Ms. Reed’s writing is interesting and full of drama. One thing to expect is expect the un-expectable. Like I mentioned earlier, I was hoping for answers but only found myself with more questions by the end. I am desperately hoping Brooke gets her head out of you know where so she can start focusing on what’s important. There are several things looming over-her-head and it was explained why she’s been acting the way she has but…My goodness I re

The Lover's Game was so much better than book 1. I loved it. There is so much suspense and mystery in book that I'm trying to figure things out. I love that a book can keep me guessing. I also love that the characters feel real. They have real problems. I can't wait to read more.
"All the feels"! The Lover's Game had me tied up in knots throughout the whole book. One minute I couldn't put the book down and then next I was nervous to read the next line.

The first half of the book, I wanted to hit Jett across the back of the head and was praying Brooke would just move on without him and then the other half I was mad at Brooke and wished she would get a clue!

After reading "The Lover's Secret", I was left slightly disappointed (and if you read my review, you will understand

What I Loved: Okay after the major cliff hanger at the end of The Lover’s Secret I couldn’t wait to dive right into this one. We meet up with Brooke right after the first book ends, with her heart decimated and having no real plan of attack on how to deal with it all. I can definitely say on some level I really feel for Brooke. I can’t imagine being in a serious relationship with someone, having a baby with them and really just scratching the surface of their

Ok, I need more. I am desperate for more. This series, these books, this author… grabbed a hold of me and hasn’t let go. Brooke’s crazy life is just about to do me in and I love every minute of it.

Brooke discovered so much at the end of The Lover’s Secret that now she has to find her way all over again. Jett just leaves too much to trust. He wants Brooke to trust him, but can she? After everything she has learned she knows this love is such a dangerous game. Not only with the inherited property

Amy's Review:
Brooke is back and crazier than ever. The Lover's Secret was book one in this No Exceptions series and The Lover's Game followed suit.

At the end of the last book, Brooke was heartbroken.Jett, being theasshathe is, burned her yet again. Deciding it was time to pull up her big girl panties and better herself, Brooke decides it is time to leaveJettin the wind. Pregnant, heartbroken, monetarilybroken and alone, Brooke was a freight. Brooke wants to start over. She has been betrayed and hurt by her boyfriend Jett. Now pregnant and alone, Brooke knows she must find a life of her own for her and the baby. Jett loves Brooke but he has secrets of his own that he is not willing to share. There seems to be someone following Brooke but she is not sure. Tired of being in the dark, Brooke goes to a girls night out with the women she works with. She tries to move on with a stranger but Jett makes a surprising appearance. Torn between

Book two doesn't fail to bring the heat but it does still leave me wanting more! This is the continuation of the Lovers Secret so you MUST read book one first and you should also read the Surrender Your Love series as well since the characters pick where that series ended.
What would you do if you gave someone one more chance and they burned you again? Well in Brooke's case, you do the complete opposite of what is expected of you. She uses the one life line she has left and meets Greyson, a phot

Ok, wow. I feel like this series just keeps getting crazier and crazier and the more I read the more drawn in I am. I literally could not put this book down. I was pretty much like this most of the book:

Still, I pushed on. Why? Because as crazy as it was, I was hooked and I wanted to know what the hell happened and why it happened and who it happened with. Yep, that is how hella confused I was. I admit, like Brooke, I am ridiculously pissed off at Jett too! Even if he hasn’t done anything wrong,

Lover’s game is the second installment in the no exception series by J.C. Reed. I recommend you read the surrender series first to begin with Jett and Brooke’s story. The no exception series picks up after the surrender series. The book is written in Brooke’s POV.

Brooke is heartbroken and completely broke. She kind of has a theme going with the word broke. She can’t work for Jett any longer so she meets a photographer names Grayson and he gives

Please make sure you read Book 1 The Lovers Secret in the No Exception Series, this review will have spoilers!

J.C. Reed does it again with this second instalment in this series. It starts off where the first book left off, with Brooke walking away after witnessing Jett with Tiffany. Brooke is reeling from Jett’s betrayal. She cannot believe Jett would betray and lie to her again especially after what happened the last time. She is devastated, angry and hurt. Th

This book continues the story of Jett and Brooke and their very dysfunctional relationship. After everything that they have been through together I think they deserve a break. But when secrets and lies are involved there is bound to be drama and dysfunction.

Brooke can be downright infuriating at times. She has a tendency to live in her own mind and loses site of what is happening right in front of her. But with her recent past, it does come to be a little expected. I just wish that she would ta

Wow. Talk about leaving you on the edge of your seat. The Lover's Game picks right up from The Lover's Secret. Brooke is now pregnant with Jett's baby but she feels as if he's betrayed her again. She has accumulated quite a bit of debt and needs to find a way to pay it off. Brooke feels as if she can't keep up with Jett's lifestyle and is afraid he will leave her because of it. She tries to figure out a way to pay off the debt without involving Jett. She is made a offer to model nude or semi nud ...more

This one picks up right where the previous book left off with Brooke running away from the hotel she saw Jett and his ex kissing. She is truly heart broken. Forever changed. So what do you do when you cut ties with your hot rich boyfriend? Get a modeling job that may require you to be nude of course! I was all like "Go Brooke!" because she is doing something for herself. Yes she needs money and not just a minimum wage job either. Working with Grayson seems like a pretty good thing. She goes back ...more

This book didn't give me any sleep. It didn't give me rest. For hours I sat there, reading, praying, wondering, loving, cursing, hating. I loved The Lover's Secret (Book 1 in the series) but The Lover's Game blew my mind. The words flew so well really well, I forgot I was reading a book. It has been a long time a book has done this: pulling at my heart strings and leaving me craving and wanting for more- for Jett, for their story to continue.

Another intriguing installment of Brooke and Jett's story. There are so many things that are open and waiting to be solved with this series. I love it! I love that I fell in love with both Brooke and Jett in the Surrender Series and I love that their story keeps on going. And boy there is never a full moment in Brooke's life, I don't think she was ever meant to lead a normal life. Well I guess you can say her normal is all the crazy st

This is the second book of the No Exceptions series by JC Reed. The first book ended in a cliffhanger, and of course this one did too. Knowing what happens after Brooke found out about Jett’s betrayal was very interesting, and for a heart broken 23 year old girl, she reacted in the best way she could. This book was good to read, but also difficult, mostly because the huge amount of D.R.A.M.A. in it. I like it, but I need some relaxing moments, and this poor girl didn't have one single e
