For me the story is now complete.
First we had the mother's story, then we had the father's documentary and now we have the daughter's book. It was nice to read her side of the story. It was the only thing missing here.
I love books with theme Iran involved in some way. It might make me a bit biased, but I'm glad I have this book in my Iran collection.

A lot of people thought Betty Mahmoody made it all up. That she just wasn't cut out for Iranian culture and by writing a 'negative' book she sort of

Could not finish it... Sorry. I tried... Until page 285... It sounds like a book full of memories told by a 12-year old girl. I understand why she wrote it but I did not like it.

Mahtob Mahmoody is the daughter of American author Betty Mahmoody. Her father was an Iranian-born, American-educated doctor, Dr. Sayed Mahmoody. In 1987, her mother published Not Without My Daughter in which she describes how she and then four-year-old Mahtob had been kidnapped from the United States in 1984 and imprisoned in Tehran by her Iranian husband. The book sold 12 million copies and ins ...more
