This book is part of a series of short guides produced by the British Museum and the strictures of such a format really limit what can be achieved. Even though the guide is informative it is inconclusive. That is a bit annoying for the average reader. Ultimately it proved impossible to identify the figure of the winged and bird-footed goddess as any of the main contenders that were Ištar, Lilith and Erishkigal.

These books are fabulous. The British Museum certainly knows it's customers. An interesting focus on just one item in the museum. And there are many more that cover the most interesting pieces in the museum.

A well written booklet about The Queen of the Night with archaeological and historical information, as well as great illustrations.

A good short guide to the Queen of the Night. Underlining *short* here.
It IS a booklet, so given that thought, the information is good and the pictures are of excellent quality.
Personally for me more information would be even better, so I will be on a hunt for that. :)
