This is a difficult, often tedious book primarily concentrating on the legal issues surrounding the integration of former Nazis into public life. Ultimately it seems that German economic pragmatism won the day - perhaps on balance they made the right decisions, however unpalatable, and now Germany is regarded as both the nation most keeping Europe from economic ruin while also being a responsible and valued nation internationally.
