I went into this book expecting a romantic suspense, and while there was some romance and plenty of suspense, really it's about one woman's journey to finding herself and her freedom.

I read the first couple of chapters through my fingers, sure the bad guy would jump out at any moment. The story starts off running and Megan's debilitating fear is evident from word one. I did question going to a women's shelter in her home town and getting in contact with her father again when she's trying to hide
