I liked the book better than Brazen Angel. I liked the intrigue of this one, but wasn't too fond of the characters. The character development of the heroine was a little iffy. We met Lily in Brazen Angel when she was 15 or 16. She had a child's crush on Webb, 21. In this book, they meet again as adults. At times she seemed like a simpering debutante. Then, the author would have us believe she was an effective spy. She had me confused most of the time. As far as the hero, Webb, I am not sure he l ...more

Lily was spurned by Webb all those years ago. Now with a failed marriage behind her she's being tossed back in Webb's direction. With lots of miscommunication and a solid storyline this is a great second part to the trilogy. Webb's overconfindence in himself and Lily's determination is what make the situations even more deadly. I did feel that the ending was a little rushed, especially when it comes to their relationship.
Not nearly as good as the first book but still very enjoyable. Lily has loved Webb since she was young. Now a spy for the Americans, her adopted country, she is forced towork with Webb in Paris. Again, lots of great action and ramance but not as breathtaking as the first book.
Sequel to the Brazen Angel.
Unfortunately little new here. H/h are spies and travel between France and England. Practically a replay of Sophia and Giles' adventures with a few differences. Sorta slot in new heroine/hero name.
Nevertheless a good read.

I really liked Adam's character in this novel. And our couple. They were pretty great too.

I liked Webb. I thought Lily was a little whiny.
