The Way to a Hero's Heart...

Fiery, workaholic Lily Redman is sure of two things: that she knows good food and that she always gets what she wants. And what she wants more than anything is to make a success of her new American TV show, Celebrity Chef Swap without the help of her cheating ex-fiancé and producer, Patrick O'Brien. So when she arrives in Cornwall, she's determi

Sugar and Spice by Angela Britnell was everything nice. I love me a great HEA and combined that with a great foodie book, wonderful characters, wicked ex's and a sassy spunky 8 year old and you have a win ~ win on your hands.

Lily Redman loves to cook. When she is in the kitchen, she is in her zone. Her greatest joy is feeding people. After leaving Tennessee and a cheating ex, she travels to Cornwall to drum up some of the best local talent for a new network television program, Celebrity Chef Swa

Cute and fun and with a bit of drama in it.

Lily is a chef and is always on the go. She loves food, she loves her job and to her cooking is relaxing so I can't fault a woman for doing what she loves. Even if she could sit down and smell the roses now and then ;)

Kenan has issues. Trauma from his tours in Afghanistan, and unresolved conflicts with his ex.wife. He is a nice man, but does not say much.

Which means we have whirlwind meets stone. And she will break through that shell and they will slow

The premise of the novel is very simply do opposites attract? Fiery, workaholic Lily Redman (Luscious Lily) is determined, feisty and career orientated. She's in England signing up chefs for her new American TV show, Celebrity Chef Swap. Kenan Rowse has returned from Afghanistan and recovering from a messy divorce. Lily employs him chauffeur her around England as she negotiates with potential chefs for her new program. The story focuses on their developing relationship.

When American chef, Lily Redman, arrives in England to make plans for her new TV show Celebrity Chef Swap, she hires ex-military man, Kenan Rowse, as her driver, turning Lily's business trip into a recipe for romance. A fun romantic comedy with a dash of cheating ex-fiances & interesting family characters.

This was my first taster of Angela Britnell's work...I well and truly loved it! I now have It Happens in Nashville to get stuck into soon.

Kenan the perfect dreamboat.

Lily awesome.

Patrick, probably the only Irish guy whose charm sucks!!!

The blurb for Sugar and Spice sounds brilliant and really very interesting and I thought this book should be totally my cup of tea. I mean, it is about a Chef, so there are going to be tons of eating for sure...! And the two main characters were described as a chalk and cheese so I was hoping for a real chemistry. And I have never read Angela Britnell before, and reading an author for the first time is always a great experience for me.

Meet Lily, a Chef who has achieved everything only thanks to

Sugar and Spice is Angela Britnell's debut UK novel, having won ChocLit's Search for an American Star competition, and it is no wonder because you can tell that Angela is a very accomplished writer.

Sugar and Spice is pure romance, almost from the very first page and it doesn't let up in the slightest until you have absorbed the very last word. I have to admit that I found American Lily a little irritating to start with but I soon came to adore her relationship with brooding Kenan. I also loved K

Lily Redman is a chef, and also does TV. She is currently working on confirming the line up of Celebrity Chef Swap, a programme where chefs will swap kitchens. She is going to make this an international show and comes to the UK to try and convince some people to take part. She is also trying to get away from her ex manager and fiancee Patrick.

Lily arrives and heads to Cornwall, where she then decides she will need a driver to get her around not only Cornwall but also the rest of the UK as she h

This is another winning book by Angela Britnell. Sugar and Spice is fun, sassy and such a pleasure to read. Lily is such a vibrant character in contrast to Kenan's stoic charm. I loved all the romantic tension, while Kenan tried to maintain his prickly exterior.

Before they even have a start, Kenan's ex-wife shows up and puts a monkey wrench in the works- then it all gets very complicated on both sides. When there is a will there is a way and somehow Lily and Kenan find their way.

I love to watch

The story of Lilly, the capable southern American chef and Jago, the quiet ex-military dad, who became her driver / assistant, was a fun read. The characters took off right from the get go with their desires dominating. The introduction of his daughter Mandy was sweet.

The writing seemed to flow quite easily and I found myself thinking that the author may be an American, only because of the way she had Lilly pegged as a girl “from the South”. The luggage, the love of a great recipe, conversation

A rather irritating book with a neanderthal hero and a too girly heroine. The writing's not great, although I had lined it up to be a 3-star read, mainly for being such a good idea for a novel, until the totally ridiculous scene of violent threat in the restaurant between Lily and her ex. Um, no, just no - no woman would leave with a man who did that to her, certainly not in a public place where she could so easily call for help! The novel became really annoying after this, and I gave up caring ...more

Slow to start and feels like a typical bimbo story, but it does start to empower women
Touches on topics such as domestic violence, control, stepfamilies
All in all a decent read
