Go through the alphabet, finding objects on the farm that start with each letter. An alliterated sentence narrates the scene and a question prompts the child to interact with the page, either finding an object, counting a group, or describing what is happening. The letter is in the corners of the page, upper and lower case. This an ABC book with a seek-and-find element and vocabulary for kids who read at Level 1.

It all starts with something. My reading started with alphabet
There is much to look at and talk about in this delightful Alphabet Book, which is set an Apple Tree Farm. For each letter there is a picture of life on the farm, including Mrs. Boot the famer, her children Poppy and Sam, and thier dog called Rusty. There is also a tongue-twisitng sentence with a question to answer, and lots of things beginning with that letter to spot. Children will love finding the little yellow duck which is hiding in each picture too.

This alphabet book is a wonderful book for young readers. One every page there is a scene from the farm and a sentence using a letter in the alphabet. I would use this in a kindergarten classroom. I would read a page a day and have the children find each word in the sentence that starts with the letter of the day.

Recommends it for: parents reading with their children
Shelves: childrens, 2007, pets
A decent alphabet book, with a farm setting and illustrations that help depict things that begin with each letter. The characters are familiar - the Boot family are also highlighted in a few other Usborne books by this author/illustrator team.

Great book for young readers because the book goes in alphabetical order and has awesome illustrations that can help readers figure out words. This book also contains several alliterations for each letter and has a story on each page.
