Danny Green is a young man hired to drive a wagon for Colonel Cluggage because he knows how to set type and work a printing press loaded on the wagon. When Major Seth Adams' wagon train comes on a stranded man, his mules shot, arrows sticking out all over the wagon, it sets off a chain that may get them all killed.

They are in the middle of Ute country and the Major had already promised they would pass straight through. But when it's revealed the man has discovered a diamond mine where the Major
