On one level, I enjoyed revisiting Meyer's first season at Ohio State, going back through the games (though I didn't get to see all of them, because I was coaching tennis and missed several) and getting the highlights of the season. But the deeper, more interesting level was the behind-the-scenes look that it gives of big-time college football in general and Ohio State football in particular, finding out more about the players and coaches, their backstories and their growth through the season.
Buckeye Rebirth by Bill Rabinowitz is a nonfiction work that tells the unbelievable story of Urban Meyer, the 2012 Ohio State Buckeye Football team head coach, and the struggles he faced coaching. Great book that gives insights into Meyer's successes at Florida and OSU. Lots of interviews with people on the 2012 Buckeye team that went undefeated, and a personal look at what makes him tick. Perfect timing reading this just as they won the national championship.
