I found this book to be a bit childish in its narrative and not a work of prose that would keep me coming back for more. There was action but nothing complex that generates excitement for the reader. It was monotonous to me. It's a shame since it had some nice concepts in it, including some humorous parts, but the writer failed to execute the story in a way that had me eager for more. Sadly, I doubt I will be back unless I really have nothing else to read.

Take the magical storytelling and mythical hopefulness of CS Lewis and combine it with the darker, battle-filled epic of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and you have Shawn E. Crapo. What a true storyteller emerging author Crapo proves himself to be with his first novel in the Dragon Chronicles series.
