Elder LeGrand Richards was always one of my favorite speakers to listen to when I was a kid. He and I share the same birthday, we both wear the same glasses. I was very excited to read this book about his life.

Overall, the book is a great tribute to his life, but there are times that it seemed a little "braggadocious".

I'm all for a little ego in a biography. After all, if you can't point out your accomplishments, why have a book written about your life?

This was a good book about a great man.

The author has done this generation a great service by putting all the time and effort into gathering the many facts and stories concerning LeGrand Richards' life into this biography. It was a book that needed to be written so that future disciples of Christ can see how one of the great ones lived. I consider it an honor to have met this great man and shaken his hand. In his words, I "shook the hand of the man [LeGrand Richards:] who shook the hand of the m

I loved this book! I read it in bits and snippets and just finished yesterday. I wish I had known all these things about him when I was a young teenager and had the opportunity to meet him through visits to our stake and General Conference addresses. Amazing, Christlike man. I literally was swept away into the past as I read of his early missionary experiences, church leadership years and apostolic years. Several times I was moved to tears as he recounted in a personal way his feelings and impres ...more

I loved this book. I remember LeGrand Richards speaking in conference as a youth. I loved to hear him speak. I had no clue of his family ancestry. (That he was the grandson of Franklin D. Richards, son of George F. Richards, one of the 12 Apostles (from 1906 to 1945). LeGrand was known for his speaking ability and spoke at every conference from the time he was called to be the Presiding Bishop, untill he died. (Except for the time he had a heart attack and was in the hospital for an extended tim ...more

A good book. Not great, but good. He kept good records, a fairly thorough history. Not a great deal of insight about his thoughts at various stages of his life.

The concluding chapters are very, very good. It also was written very near the
