The night that changed everything!

Waitress Darcy Penn is the smart, sensible type—flirting with the extremely cute guy in the bar just isn't her usual style. As for ending up in his hotel room? Definitely not! Sneaking out while he's in the bathroom to avoid the post-sex awkwardness? Much more like it….

If Darcy had stuck around, Jeff Norton could have told her about their

My HP reading has drastically reduced over the years but Mira Lyn Kelly is one author I do enjoy reading and now I can say that Waking Up Pregnant is one of her strongest books and unlike usual HPs.

I liked Jeff the hero, he was a just man, who loved his mother. He and Darcy meet in Vegas and spend a night together and while Jeff is in the bathroom, Darcy runs out, not giving Jeff a chance to try something between them or the fact that the condom broke.

A few months later however D

This is a Harlequin KISS book. As such, we know that our two main characters are going to meet, there will be some drama, and they will end up together. Add in the trope of "pregnant after a one-time encounter," and we all know we've read something like this before.

Which doesn't mean that Waking Up Pregnant is a waste of reading time. Far from it! Ms. Kelly's words touched all those lovely places in my heart that make me read this kind of story. I felt her fear, her love, his

Even if this book was predictable I still really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters Jeff and Darcy. What I loved about Darcy's characters was that she was a women who learned from her past and has decided to lead a more stale and independent life. Even when she found herself pregnant she still worked on trying to get her independence, meanwhile Jeff was offering her everything he could to help her. I thought this book was well written and enjoyable. I loved how generous and caring Jeff ...more

Listen to me!

There was a point where I really enjoyed the writing style but thought the "hero" couldn't get any worse.

He was a wienie. Yes, I borrowed a word from my 5 year old's vocabulary because I thought it would be appropriate considering this man's immaturity and inability to take responsibility....

But thank the heavens!!

He came to his senses. I loved it! Fun. Fun. Fun.

Waking Up Pregnant by Mira Lynn Kelly

I received this book from to publisher for my honest review.

This was my first Mira Kelly book and I loved it. It was a cute, happy, swoony read. I am all for books with a bit of drama and a happy ending.
This book does everything in the opposite form. The main characters Darcy and Jeff start of by having a steamy one night together which of course ends with Darcy pregnant. Throughout the book, the two work of forming a relationship that will benefit them rai

Waking Up Pregnant is a cute story of a one night stand with consequences but it was one of those books that I couldn’t help but like the characters and was secretly plotting ways to throw them together because even if they refused to believe they should be together, I was all in from the minute they met. This book took me by surprise with its lighthearted fun beginning, the crazy, mixed up midd

So the premise sounds familiar, you have Vegas and a hot guy and a practical waitress who steps outside of her boundaries for one night. Skip forward a couple of months and oops baby is on the way. The difference here is that what could be trite is saved by likeable characters who deal with a difficult situation in reasonable way. But that strength becomes a bit of a weakness when it comes to the plot. There is very little conflict to push the plot forward and what is there feels a bit ...more

Waking up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly was and still is free on Amazon. I loved the book so when I saw Waking up Pregnant on Netgally I requested a copy. I was not disappointed. It was a feel good story that featured Jeff, Connor’s friend from Waking up Married.

Like Connor Jeff met someone in Vegas. Darcy did not do one-night stands but Jeff was so much fun she ended up in his bed. Three months later she looks Jeff up to tell him she is pregnant and the fun begins. She is determined to be independ

This was a very solid, innocuous and quick read. I enjoyed the build-up; Darcy and Jeff's time in Las Vegas was completely endearing. I really felt the connection between the two characters.

The conflict was barely there, but at least it didn't devolve into an epically stupid Big Misunderstanding. It was mostly a conflict of stubbornness, which isn't the most compelling thing in the world, but also isn't the worst. I understood Darcy, and found her motivation made sense, I was also grateful that

I like the story, but the writing style...not that much...

It's written in 3rd person POV,....I've read more than 600 books, and only a few were able to satisfy me with 3rd person POV's. Why? I usually feel detached to the characters, and that's not my fault.. One of my favorite author tried writing a novel in 3rd person, and god, it was horrible.

I just breeze through the whole novel.

I like the ending.

This was cute. It's been a while since I've read Waking Up Married but if I remember correctly I like it a bit better...
It was cute but it just wasn't that great.
I'm just not 100% sure how I really feel about it.

As always with Kelly's books, this was a fun read. I especially related to the heroine with her need not to look as though she wanted more from the hero than he could give.

Super cute! Predictable, but oopsie baby in Vegas was pretty much exactly what I was looking for at the time. :)
When Harlequin launched its KISS line, it gave away Mira Lyn Kelly's Waking Up Married for free (it's still free). It was a fun little book, so I read Kelly's Once Is Never Enough when it came out, and was a bit disappointed. It was sweet enough, but Kelly's fondness for incomplete sentences distracted me. But I was up for trying again with the release of Waking Up Pregnant -- a companion to Married, but a standalone.

Jeff picks up the reluctant Darcy, a cocktail waitress, one night in Vegas, and

Ramblings. I love and adore books with babies involved in it. Yep, that’s pretty much the reason why I read this book and why an ARC of Baby for Keeps is sitting on my Netgalley account. Pregnancy and babies just takes the book up a notch into a whole new heart warming level.

My thoughts. Waking Up Pregnant serves as a companion novel to Waking Up Married (which I haven’t read yet) but can certainly be read as a standalone novel. This book is short, sweet and emotional read about the characters

Extremely Disappointed. Why Does There Always Have to be Another Woman Already on the Scene, Taking the Heroine's Place??!!

I am so sorry to say that I did not like this book any whatsoever. The story line was okay and it had the potential to be a very good story, but it sorely missed the mark.

Darcy Penn is a very sensible waitress in Vegas and this is her final night at her job. Jeff Norton is at one of her tables and it seems she gets to him and he doesn't want the night to end. Unfortunately i

This was a really sweet story. Jeff, and Darcy were likable characters. It was nice to read about a hero that was supportive when he found out a baby was on the way. The suspense on the relationship they shared took away from the book. I know it's always good to have some suspense, and a yo yo back in forth on what they are feeling to make a good story. This book I felt took it to the extreme. Half way through the book, they couldn't even give a title to the friendship they shared. They didn't ...more

Waking Up Pregnant is the ‘sequel’ to Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly. This story follows Jeff Norton, Connor Reed’s best friend. The same night Connor meets Megan Scott, Jeff meets Darcy Penn, the waitress that also makes a small appearance in the first book.

This is the last night Darcy works as a waitress in Las Vegas. She has always played it safe. She decides this is the night to let a little loose after she meets sexy and confident Jeff. But, one night leads to pregnancy. Darcy shows u

This is the second book in Mira Lyn Kelly's Waking Up series, and just like her first, Waking Up Married, this book was a fun, easy read.

Darcy Penn is a cocktail waitress in Vegas and despite her normally very carefully scripted life, she agrees to a fun last night with Jeff. One adventure leads to another and then a fun night in bed.

Three months later, Darcy shows up in Jeff's office and starts their encounter off right - with an acute case of morning sickness.

What follows is a tumultuous jo

Heroine has always had to take care of herself. So when she discovers she's pregnant after her first one-night stand ever, she's reluctant to give up any of her independence. The hero is rich and nice so when she collapses due to extreme morning sickness, he takes her to his fabulous mom. This is one of those stories where the hero and heroine both think they know his "type" and are sure it's not her. She has real reasons to fear the loss of her independence. This is just a nice romance with ...more

I really enjoyed this book. Yes, it was predictable, and, yes, the hero and heroine were in love but had no idea, but I thought it was so sweet. So, as you can see from the title, Darcy woke up pregnant and it was after a one night stand. Jeff, our rich hero always had every intention of taking care of her and their baby. Thank goodness he wasn't a jerk. But they were both naive, I honestly think he was more in denial than she was.

So, if you like the one night stand, waking up pregnant, rich gu

This was a quick and cute read. I loved the way Darcy and Jeff were together. And his mom was a riot. Especially when she found a special man. My lips are zipped as to who. I enjoyed how it wasn't an instant love for them. The author did a great job of making this feel like a real story that very well could happen in real life.

No matter how you feel or what book disaster you read before with crappy love stories, Harlequin Kiss will make it all better. I'm still new to the Kiss line from Harlequin. I've read a few but I find them a little boring for the most part. I think it is the lack of really hot sex. Who knows. Either way I've read a few and I've liked them on an average level. I thought this one had a dynamic cover and snatched it up. On top of that I picked up the freebie first book months ago and hadn't gotten to it. I figured if this one was decent then I might go back and r

Waking Up Pregnant is pretty much what it's title suggests. Jeff is in Vegas to meet up with his friend Connor after Connor had a terrible broken engagement. While waiting Jeff starts to notice his waitress Darcy and how she seemingly turns down every other guy in the bar. This makes her a challenge for him, and uncharacteristically of Darcy, she accepts. The evening goes better than expected and they end up back at Jeff's hotel. Afterwards, when Jeff leaves the room for the bathroom, Darcy ...more

Mira Lyn Kelly is seriously working her way into my heart with these adorable quick reads. I just recently finished Waking Up Married and adored it! So, when I saw Waking Up Pregnant I knew I needed to read it. And I wasn’t wrong. Waking Up Pregnant was such a sweet story and I loved that it was about Conner’s best friend Jeff.
