I like the Whisper Falls series. The town changed its name to match the nearby falls. Their is a legend going around that if you climb to the top of the falls and go behind them and say a prayer. Your prayer will be answered.

Cassie climbs up to the falls and prays for the numbness is released. Her husband died a couple of years ago on their honeymoon to Mexico.
Cassie cares about her town and family.

Heath came to Whisper Falls for some peace. He is the new assistant police chief. On his w...more

Linda Goodnight is known for sweet romances featuring a strong sense of family and community, and The Lawman’s Honor certainly lives up to that reputation. This is book 4 of the Whisper Falls miniseries based around a small town in the Ozarks that is named after a nearby tourist attraction, where prayers are said to be answered. I have not yet had the pleasure of reading the first three books in the series, but I was happy to find that this one can stand on its own. Even so, now that I’ve been i...more

Goodnight is usually one of the inspirational romance authors I prefer: her characters are fleshy and interesting; her plotlines, not too treacly sweet; her writing, adept and smooth. These elements are in THE LAWMAN'S HONOR as well. In this case, however, I was disappointed in her latest. The main problem was in the hero's unconvincing suspicions of the heroine, so much so that he comes across as paranoid and stupid. I really enjoyed this novel about a policeman in a small town attracted to the woman he's investigating. The secondary characters, especially the ones in the heroine's beauty shop, were a hoot and added good conflict with their pointed questions. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was wonderful, and the ending, while having some traumatic ups and downs, was satisfying.

Linda Goodnight is a fabulous author, with unique analogies and great ways of saying things. I really enjoy her writing,a...more

I enjoyed reading The Lawman's Honor. One in the Whisper Falls Series.
Heath moves to Whisper Falls to get away from a busy town he was working in. Meets Cassie when he is moving to Whisper Falls. He is on the road during a storm and goes off the road. Cassie is behind him and sees it happen. Cassie goes down the ravine to help. Can't get him out. Calls for help. She talks and talks just to keep him awake. They because friends. He checks into her dead ex husband on drugs. She gets mad but they e...more

“The Lawman's Honor” by Linda Goodnight is the fourth book in her Whisper Falls series, and a great stand alone book should any prior books not be read yet. This is Cassie Blackwell's (Austin's sister from “Rancher's Refuge”) story and WOW what a story it is as well. I found it refreshing that there were no real big secrets that were kept hidden, and when questions were asked then honest answer were given. At times that honesty was not received that well and caused some interesting issues, but o...more

Harlequin Books
"This is a heartfelt story with a sweet romance (and a delicious brownie recipe). Goodnight skillfully weaves storms, both literal and figurative, into the characters' lives". (RT Book Reviews, rated 4 stars)
