This is a true story. It is difficult to read because one wants things to be – or to become --different from what they are. One wants happy endings not just for the individuals depicted in this book but also for all the others who struggle with similar life journeys. It is a book worth reading because it educates about the stresses of life in the inner city and the strength required to keep going. My heart really went out to the youngsters whose lives are so challenging.
