The writing is good, I really liked the storyline, but it was rushed and everything was settled with a magic wand. This could have been excellent if more time was taken with the development. I'd like to read more about Ryker's SEAL buddies.

This book focuses on a young male veteran named Ryker who attempts to avoid his emotions that the war brought on and the devastation that he found his wicked wife, Nikki, had wrought while he was away on three different deployments. In order to stuff his emotions he takes a cross country road trip to run from his pain. After witnessing the deaths of several friends while deployed and even suffering some facial disfigurement from combat, Ryker is trying to remain numb and not relive his ...more

Nearly 5 * for this one.

It was a rather which read, but with enough detail and depths to the characters to make me care about them beyond the story, which is rare for such short stories. What keeps me from giving it full stars is the ending., because it's just too rushed, like the author was running out of space or allowed words or whatever. Another chapter to make me see the change of mind in both the main characters would have made things more plausible. And maybe leaving the sort-of-proposal

This was a quick read for me. Just a few hours and exactly what I needed to kill some time. The story was good. Ex Seal Ryker traveling through town and meets a waitress who has a kid. Laura has problems with her daughters father who wants to see her and be with her but Laura doesn't want that to happen. The baby daddy is some big time drug dealer. So in a few days Ryker and Laura develop a relationship and deal with the baby daddy. The story went by really fast and more than a few times I had ...more

Review: This book had just enough action to keep me enthralled. I really like how author Ashielle Rose was able to create characters with so much depth that you could picture their inner thoughts in your head. The book was definitely a page turner as you followed both characters through life changing events. I'll be recommending this book to all the romance fans out there! Definitely a good book to pick up and read in a few nights!

Great love story

A story of finding love in the most unexpected places. This story brings light to the realities of PTSD as well.

Enjoyed this book. A feisty café owner and her rambunctious daughter helping a retired SEAL find a reason to stay with an enemy from their past coming back to haunt them.
