An excellent primer to the philosophy of G.K. Chesterton, but the reader might have a better time receiving it from ol' Gilbert himself. Peters, like most admirers of Chesterton, ends up committing almost as much text to quoting Chesterton as he does to original writing. This is a recurring problem with scholars. I think I've had this book more than once probably four times now and it is truly marvellous every time. Packed with quotes insights and the sheer joy of Chesterton's Christian vision of life art and culture. Read and re read.
