Eddie Clay III’s new novel is a surprise in every sense of the word. The ex-marine is trying his luck with an unexpected genre: romance. Who would have thought? The Seduction of Monet Dawson is a love story based on true events, set in California in the early 1990’s, and narrated by the author’s alter ego Gunnery Sergeant Thompson in a first person point of view.
After returning from a year-long assignment in Okinawa, Japan, Gunny Thompson, who has full custody of his six year old son, settles i

Wow, The Seduction of Monet Dawson – Confessions of a Military Wife by E. Clay was a roller coaster ride of emotions and feelings. This book truths are so expertly woven into the novel that you cannot tell what is truth versus what is fiction. Clay puts out his life’s story in a way that makes you want to keep reading. When he introduces you to Monet you sympathize with her being an army wife; but you also feel slightly torn that she is overall cheating on her husband. Technically she is still m ...more

The title of the book is definitly not what you expect when it comes to the actual story. The story is much more than Confessions of a Military Wife. The book gives you an interesting look at the inside of what military life is like for some and is definitely not what you expect. I was drawn in from the beginning and anxious to see what would happen next. It's shocking and exciting to find out this is from a man's view point and is based on a true story.

Some of the grammatical errors, spelling e

I was a military wife for a few years, and understand a bit of what E. Clay describes in the book. At first I thought the book was written by a woman, but later on in the book I learn that it wasn't the case at all. Which took me by surprise since the title gives off a different impression to what is inside the book. The descriptive words and events really made me feel like I was right there beside all the characters. It was a complete roller coaster of emotions and feelings, that took me up and ...more

This book was nothing like I expected it to be, in an absolutely positive way. After reading the description, I was expecting the typical bored housewife having an affair, maybe true love, some drama thrown in with the unusual circumstance being that she lived on a military base. Wow, was I ever surprised! I began reading only to discover that a man was telling the story! Not just any man either, but a young, single and devoted military father who was doing whatever it took to make the best lif ...more

The Seduction of Monet Dawsom by E Clay
This is based on a true story and is very well written. The characters are easy to vision and follow E. Clay tells a wonderful story of love won and lost and won again and his adventures has a hypothesis..family man and lover and why he wrote this story.
It starts off with a crazy women Kay who attacks Clay and a women Monet who he meet at Montgomery Wards to hang blinds for him. Clay is in the military and is taking classes for hypnotizing people.. Monet wh

I read the Seduction of Monet Dawson, in exchange for review from Reader Spoils. I received a pdf version of the book. The book started off with suspense in the prologue. Wasn't sure what was going on, but you knew something bad was happening. I can tell it was set in maybe the 1990s' because in the first chapter, a man and his son, was watching In living color. I wasn't sure who the man was. His name is Clay, but I wasnt sure how he fit into the story yet. Clay meets Monet at Montgomery Ward, w ...more

I loved this book! It felt like I was hearing a story being told by a family member and I couldn't put the book down. One of those stories that you mourn finishing the book because you're gonna miss the characters. :-)

With the title “The Seduction of Monet Dawson: Confessions of a Military Wife”, I figured I had a pretty good idea of what the book was about. However, the title does not describe the book in any way. There is a character with that name and she is a military wife, but I seem to have missed the seduction part as well as any confessions (I thought maybe having an affair would be the confession, but Monet asked for a divorce prior to starting the relationship).

The main character is male and the st

I received The Seduction of Monet Dawson as a Goodreads giveaway. I was surprised the book was written by a male. It is a beautiful love story about two people who find each other and are soulmates. They also have amazing chemistry. The two characters get split apart for over twenty years yet their deep love for each other never dies. This novel was touching and poignant. I particularly liked pages 164 and 189. Great book Mr. Clay!

Lovely book based on a true story about a military man and how he finds the love of his life. It took a while for me to realise it was being told from a mans point of view, as it is called confessions of a military wife, and at the start it mentions being a single parent, I automatically 'assumed' it was Monet talking. It highlights the difficulties of relationships within the military, lovely story though and enjoyed reading it. A nice easy read, started and finished within a day.
