I have been on the plan for four weeks now and have lost a total of 12 pounds! (Hence the five stars). Most of the information is basic but I also found his reviews on certain ingredients (i.e. coconut oil, gluten) to be quite honest and he tells why he feels that way. The Doctor's Diet was an excellent manual for good health and well-being with plenty of information about the effect of obesity on the body and mind. Laid out in a clear, easy to understand manner, it provides support every step of the way with plenty of tips and motivation.

I didn't look up this book because I need to lose weight. I have only a few left to lose to reach the "ideal weight" according to my medical chart and I'm in no hurry. But I am reading on what a healthy diet is--because that's what's important to me, and because soon I have to think about not losing, but maintaining--which as I think everyone knows is the hard part. A 2011 New York Times article stated "more than 90 percent of people who lose a lot of weight gain it back."

I am a fan of Dr Stork and that's probably the main reason I picked this up. There are some great recipes in here but I don't think that I would be following the diet. (I already don't eat gluten, chocolate and I have cut out almost all sugar from my diet, so I guess it's not too different).

I enjoyed the information more for this one. It was a really interesting read.

This book provides a clear and simple plan for lasting weight loss. Written by Dr Travis Stork of the show The Doctor's, his STAT plan for weight loss provides the dieter with a plan for health as well as weight loss. Jam packed with information on foods, good and bad, and much much more information.

I am not even going to pretend that I didn't read this book because of cutie pie, Dr. Stork. On a serious note, I thought this book provided accurate information concerning obesity and what problems we are facing as a nation. The plans are clear and concise, but don't necessarily provide new information on living a healthy active lifestyle. Take the time to read it and refresh your memory of what a healthy lifestyle can do for you and your family.
I unfortunately cannot start this review with "I lost so much weight!" since I read it in a few days. I absolutely love the TV show "The Doctor's", and this book actually reads the way Dr Travis Stork speaks on the show. He uses a shock tactic in the beginning to grab the reader in, and even though the book claims to not want to "scare" the audience into starting the diet, it's sort of what it does. You will peer at that chocolate bar suspiciously, let me tell you.

Dr. Travis has a great blueprint for lifestyle change in this book. Recipes, meal equations, and listed benefits of whole foods are incredibly helpful and easily attainable. Although the diet-specifics impressed me, not much else did. I have been perusing ARC diet books to help me lose weight. I like this one because it includes a lot of health information about why this plan is good for you and will help you. It also has a diet where serving sizes are spelled pout which is helpful when making your own menus. So you wont have to eat some meals that you would never think of eating and end up buying a large bottle of something that you will never use again.

I picked this book up because I've heard great things about it via The Doctor's TV show. It piqued my interest so I decided to give it a try. There are A LOT of health issues within my extended family. I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway and was anxious to begin reading. There are so many diet books out on the market that tend promote fad diets. This one does not. What Dr. Stork does is provide an eating plan that focuses on real foods. The eating plan is similar to an exchange plan. Dr. Travis Stork, who is the co-host of "The Doctor",has written a wonderful book about the reality of how bad we eat. The book provides diet plans,motivation, and recipes to help you stay on track. It is well written and there are a lot of people following his diet.
I was given this book when I had gestational diabetes. I finally got around to reading it. I liked a lot of the points in the book and would like to try the plans. Overall it was a good book all things considered but it did seem really repetitive.
Comprehensive health advice to keep you motivated and an eating plan that is appealing and refreshingly devoid of diet fads. Nutritionally balanced, easy to prepare meals. Can't wait to start my own regime and get healthier!
