I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Smith when he came to visit South Texas College earlier this year; I didn't know what to expect, all I'd heard was an "English philosopher who taught in prison is going to give a lecture of sorts". Though I hadn't read his book yet, I couldn't help but show up. Smith was absolutely hilarious, and after actually having read his book (which, by the way, is also hilarious, profound, and it's difficult NOT to feel some form of empathy with the prisoners), I hope he ...more
