Tennessee radio personality Randall Baxter developed this book out of interviews conducted on his WNOX-FM radio show (also entitled "The Veteran Next Door") in Knoxville. It's his noble mission to collect and preserve oral accounts of more-or-less local folks who served in the Second World War (or testimony of their descendants, or close acquaintances).
