However, in an instant—in less than a breath or the bat of an eyelid—the elusive pepper spray hiding somewhere in her purse was all but forgotten. For standing before her—right there before her, not three feet away—was the best-looking, most gorgeous, handsomest man she had ever seen in all her life!

“No, seriously,” she thought out loud with lingering bewilderment

I thought this was the perfect little escape book. I've come to find that I'm definitely a mood reader. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a good mystery and other times a clean romance, and some conflict is a bonus. Yet at other times, I just want to read a cute little story that makes me smile--one that I don't have to think too hard about. This one was a perfect fit for that mood.

Lash (doesn't MLM come up with the most awesome names?!) is a hottie veterinarian in Eastern Colorado. He's so strong a

A Good-Lookin’ Man by Marcia Lynn McClure is a thoroughly enjoyable and wildly passionate story of two people who are searching for something better than what life has dished out to them, wanting something special in their life to always cherish, and desiring someone to love with no holds barred. Oh, I have to say that this story was so perfect for me! It had me giggling throughout, and I was holding my breath as the cutest characters ever began to show how much the other meant to them. Oh, this little novella is the perfect evening escape from reality. Marcia has got to be one of the best romance writing gals if you are looking for a good "escape from reality" book. This one is a quick read that will leave you wishing for more, but utterly satisfied.

The attraction is palpable and the title " A Good Lookin' Man" might be an understatement. :)

One thing I know I need is a little Fairlee of my own and I'll tell you why. She loves to iron. That is one job I do NOT love. So, send ov

A Good-Looking Man is a sweet, fun, no drama love story. I enjoyed this one summer morning before the kids got up. It was a delightful treat. Sometime I just want a love story without all the misunderstanding and jealousy. I have to say that my favorite part was the water fight. It was fun and silly. I enjoyed getting to know Lash and Fairlee. I liked Uncle Bean and Aunt Pearl they are a riot. They really enhance the story. So, if you need an escape for life and want a sweet romance. This was so fun! Very fast moving (127 pages). So sweet. I loved Fairlee. She almost seemed childlike, but the way she talks a mile a minute bringing up humiliating things when she is nervous is totally me. When I get nervous I talk and talk and talk and I bring up the stupidest things that leave me saying why in the world would I tell someone that. I also giggle. A lot. Thirty-eight year old women should not giggle like I do when they are on the spot. Can’t help it. I am totally Fairless in tha ...more

Fairlee Jones is half way through college when she decides she needs a break. She has not had good luck with any of the boy she has dated. Her high school boyfriend cheated on her, her college romance disintegrated after just a few month since there was no spark and she just can't seem to meet anyone interesting. Heading off to her aunt and uncle's house in Colorado, she is just five miles away when her car dies and there is no cell service. But this damsel in distr

I give it 5 STARS because at the beginning Marcia wrote that she wanted a good lighthearted romantic escape that would give her and others a book to giggle through. She succeeded.

I was smiling through the book. I could not believe some of the things that Fairlee would say right in front of Lash Lantry.
Fairlee is a college student who has come to stay with her Aunt and Uncle during the summer and help them. She talks to herself when she is alone or even when she is not. She is funny and wa

This is my first Marcia Lynn McClure book. That cover is FABULOUS. I didn't know what to expect when I started reading. It's a very short story (something like 78% of the file, the rest being commentary from the author and previews to other books by her...and for $7.95 I thought it was way too short...that's like 80 pages or something), very clean, though. Now, I don't want to have a huge drama and misunderstandings and twists just to further the story, but this one was remarkably chirpy and swe ...more

Hilarious book of mindless blurting. Ok, so Fairlee is a College Student on her way to her Aunt and Uncles house. Her car breaks down about 5 miles from their farm, and she figures that she will walk. Lash Lantry pulls up to rescue the damsel in distress and is greeted by Fairlee digging through her purse for the pepper spray she knows is in there. Fairlee drops the purse and Lance bends down to pick it up and hands her the pepper spray and asks if that is what she was looking for. As the friend ...more

I love spending an afternoon reading a sweet Marcia story. My rating is more a reflection of my personal preference for her historical novels.

BUT THOSE AUTHOR NOTES GET A FULL FIVE STARS! I had so much fun reading about Marcia's inspiration for different scenes and how happy she was while she was writing this novella. You can tell! Oh, I can't wait to try the recipe for the apple crisp--yum!

Cute, light-hearted, silly, slap happy, and fun. Marcia says this was an escape book for her. She needed to find herself and have fun again. It's a novella so it is easy to read in one night. Not much drama, just good clean fun. It is a sweet story that put a smile on my face. Thanks Marcia!

I started this book and quickly had a smile wide on my face. I believe that smile stayed there for the entire read. What a fun read! Fairlee did seem a little ditsy sometimes. Another reason to love MLM books, because they make you smile!

Wow. For a novella, this packs in all the sighing, laughing, and most of all blushing moments! This book does not disappoint. I am not a pet person but I would seriously consider it if the hero Lash was my vet!! A fun afternoon read.

This was one of the funniest books I've read in a very long time. I have not laughed that hard about a book in a very long time. Fairlee, the heroine, is hysterical. And (get this) "Lash Lantry" (seriously, that's his name) is apparently a hunk of burning love. This book made my day. The author, Ms McClure, said her goal was to cheer herself up and entertain herself. Way to go, Ms McClure - a job well done!

Hum. Yep it was sappy as it promised to be. It was a little ridiculous at times. And she was very annoying to me. Wayyyyy to ramblie.

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Marcia Lynn McClure grew up influenced by the reminiscent stories of rugged, rural Colorado farm life fascinatingly recounted to her by her parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts…tales of runaway buckboards, mule-drawn plows and dust pneumonia; verbalized images of stream-flooded meadows, frozen over in winter, where a child could peer through the crystal clear ic ...more
