Be careful what you ask for.

"I’m tired of being taken for granted. I think we need to spend time apart."

Student and aspiring chef Zeke Benedetti feels left out and ignored. The last thing he expected his first boyfriend Gabe Woodbury to do was take him up on his petulant ultimatum.
Zeke only expected to shake things up, open a dialogue, get to know Gabe a little better.

This was a rather bland story about a bunch of misunderstandings between an established couple. Poor communication lead to a break-up and a bunch of unnecessary angst. It was kind of irritating actually.

Cannot recommend.
Well, it looks like I'm the oddball here because I really enjoyed this, despite the fact that I've had a horrible day. This is a light, fluffy, cute, coming of age, short romance. Do I believe they've got a HEA? Oh, hell no.... one of them is only 19 years old and it's obvious these two don't really even know that much about each other yet. However, he's a really likable character and though we only really get to know him it was enough for me to enjoy it. :-)
I thought this was a kind of sweet little story, though overall there isn't much too it and there's too many threads left hanging. It's really more of a vignette than a complete story.

I did like that Gabe was obviously not a terribly intelligent guy, and didn't have much material success -- yet Zeke, ostensibly the more intelligent and successful/wealthy of the two, was doing most of the chasing and apologizing.

I did not like that so many elements -- from Gabe's three jobs to the identity of th

zeke doesn't like the way his boyfriend, gabe, drops by with no notice and doesn't talk that much, so he suggests that they break up. when gabe doesn't argue, zeke is heartbroken. then, he receives a note from a secret admirer, and figures that this is the way to get over gabe. when gabe shows up, zeke assumes that he set it up, and follows gabe home. they talk things out and understand where the other one is coming from.

what i liked: the premise.

what i didn't like: both gabe and zeke s

Lots of sex. Really, lots of sex in this story. The plot was fairly simple but the details were lacking. Zeke was a brat and I really wanted to slap him often. Gabe was cute but shallow. Nice body. Quiet guy. Seemed to think communication happened through action - naked action. Zeke's brain cells always deserted him when he was near Gabe so not much communication occurred until the latter part of the story. Even then, just when the guys would start to talk about something important, the chapter ...more
I was really disappointed in this one. Zeke's anger at his boyfriend when he blew up at him in the beginning of the story seemed really out of proportion for the situation. Maybe if he had listed all the things that had been bothering him, it would have felt more authentic. Then they didn't do a whole lot of talking about their issues before the end of the short story, though there was some hinting at some deeper issues that Gabe needed to share with Zeke about his life. Didn't really understand ...more
Strange. For me this read like a disjointed cluster of scenes pulled from the middle of a story. An abrupt start, a bunch of internal floundering, and no real ending/resolution. I felt bad for Gabe, who seemed like a nice guy, whereas Zeke came off more like a bipolar nympho.
This was much better than I anticipated! As someone said before, some threads left hanging and more porn than plot but has potential.
Zeke was way too immature for my liking.
