Being a huge Wizard of Oz fan, I am always reluctant to read spin offs and other versions of the story. (Wicked did help to open my mind, however) This story, though, intrigued me and I thought I would give it a shot. I wish I hadn't. The idea behind the story-'what if Oz wasn't a dream'-is great but the writing in this book is atrocious.
