Cute mystery set in Victorian London. This book is about mid-way through the series. It was my first time reading the series and the author does a good job of bringing the reader up to date on the characters and what has gone on before in the other books in the series without weighing down the current story.

A little more complex than other books in this series. I liked it, and it did manage to keep me guessing until near the end.

Just darling. when a team of domestic help solves the murders for the inspector, lots of interesting aspects are revealed.

Typical Mrs. Jeffries. Smythe and Betsy are engaged. Betsy is aware of Smythe's wealth. Constable Barnes tells Smythe he knows about their assistance with the Inspector's cases.
