Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. So as I saw it put elsewhere a free book does not equal a good review.

This is a kids book. As an adult I give it a 3 star rating. Yes, the story was whimsical and somewhat imaginative. The art was beautiful, and was my favorite part about the book. The writing lacked finesse in my opinion. Some parts rhymed, some parts didn't. I enjoy reading stories that have a good flow and this seemed stilted to me.

This is a sweet kids' book! I'd recommend it to every parent looking for something to read their child! It might not flow the greatest from an adult perspective but, personally, I think it might help get the kids settled down for bedtime, if one was to try.

Note: I received this book through a free give away.

The book is lovely and the illustrations are truly beautiful. As a trainee teacher trying to establish a quality library of children's books, it definitely makes the cut, my only issue and the reason that I gave it four stars as opposed to five stars is that some parts rhyme and some parts don't and when you get into the flow of reading and it rhymes you expect that to continue, the break of some rhymes and some not make is difficult to read o

When night falls, a young child and her stuffed horse named, Butterscotch, prance into the magical world of Dreamland. There they catch comets by their tails and dance with the Northern lights until the break of dawn.

Butterscotch and Me is a lovely bedtime story. The soothing text and imaginative illustrations make it a perfect book to read to children ages four to seven.

She started writing as soon as she realized she could put her daydreams on paper. However, it was her daughter, and the endless nights of reading and making up stories when her daughter couldn't sleep, that started her on the path towards writing children's books.
