It's rather inaccurate to say I'm reading this, though the illustrations are thoroughly labelled. This is really an exquisite picture book about the human body. One doesn't so much read it as study the gorgeous drawings.

I'm taking an advanced anatomy class right now, which is incredibly challenging, and this book has been a lifesaver. When I haven't had time to spend time in the lab outside of class, this book has helped me to learn and re-learn all the muscles and nerves and vessels, et...more

As a medical illustrator, this is one of more unrealistic and highly inaccurate atlases out there. Although most in the medical profession see it as their bible, there are much better anatomy books out there! Don't get me wrong, the pictures are very pretty and colorful, but as a reference you're much better off with Thieme, Clemente, or even Grant.

Dr. Netter truly loves the human body. It shows in the care with which he has illustrated EVERY, and I mean EVERY part of the human body -- all tissues at all levels. This book is a must for artists, healers, anyone who wants to know what their perineum looks like from the inside....

recommends it for: the interested
Since I'm up to my eyeballs in anatomy right now, I spend a lot of time with this anatomical atlas, and this anatomy course is a jealous lover, occupying much of my time. Regardless of the vested interest, it is amazing to see how the human body works and what lies beneath.

if you happen to find yourself dissecting a human cadaver, this book could really come in handy! i recommend it. just put it in a giant ziploc with your scalpel and you'll be set to go. the binding is kind of low quality--or i used the book too harshly.

bookshelves: reference
We spend our entire lives in these bodies; best know how they're put together. From the pain in my temples to my double jointed pinkies I have found a beautiful depiction answering all of my anatomical questions.

I learned that the human body is most awesome and perfect thing in this whole world. I also learned a bunch of arteries, veins and nevers that come on my practical exams.

The "bible" of visual anatomy. All hand-drawn images pertaining to all the layers of the human body. Amazing to those who are interested.
Gross to those who are not.

Bad ass. Beautifully detailed illustrations. I only wish that the text extended beyond mere names so that I wouldn't have to keep going to my other anatomy texts.

It's not just an anatomy atlas... It's a beautifully illustrated art book - perfect for the coffee table - that reveals the incredible complexity of the human body.
