This is a fun read with likable characters, a whodunit plot, and a touch of romance. I took it on a long plane ride and it made the trip whiz by. It would also be a perfect summer read. Now I have to read the next in the series to find out if Corrie and Rick make it past friendship, or if JD returns to give him some competition!

I just finished reading this terrific, engaging, page-turner of a mystery/suspense debut novel by Amy M. Bennett--and it left me thirsting for a sequel!

Corrie Black, the beautiful, spunky, raven-haired owner of Black Horse Campground (which she has been running on her own since the death of her beloved father, Billy Black Horse), is used to peaceful summers in fictional Bonney County, NM, surrounded by a group of loyal longtime friends and a collection of repeat customers who have become almost

Come visit the Black Horse Campground, where mystery abounds!

I have only great things to say about End of The Road by Amy M. Bennett. Vivid writing makes each scene unfold before your eyes. Bennett has a true talent for character development, lively dialogue, and strong plot. Well-seasoned with humor, End of the Road features an enjoyable cast of memorable characters in an authentic New Mexico atmosphere.

Corrie Black, owner of the Black Horse Campground, is spunky, proud, curious, independent, s

The End of the Road is a great summer read. Set in a campground/RV park in New Mexico, it’s just where you’d like to be for a vacation week. Corrie Black, who runs the place after her father dies, is somebody you’d like to be friends with. We know she’s a good person because she has some great girlfriends and you’d like to be friends with them, too. Things get complicated when one of her elderly repeat customers ends up dead and a handsome motorcycle rider shows up but apparently doesn’t go to ...more

It has been a LONG time since I read a book that made me literally laugh out loud! In Amy Bennett's _End of the Road_, we have a cast of characters that that manages to be hilariously familiar yet fully dimensional. The plot of this cozy mystery kept me guessing up until the very end, kept me cheering for the heroine and the charming heroes who flanked her, and had me tearing through the fast-paced pages to find out what would happen next. All characters had clear motivations and believable ...more

I don't read many mysteries, but I highly enjoyed End of the Road. It did what, in my mind, a mystery should: kept me thinking and guessing, all while endearing me to the sleuths.

Being a camper myself, I could easily envision the quirky cast of the Black Horse Campground. I enjoyed the interplay among Corrie, J.D., and Rick, who was my favorite character. There are a lot of layers to the sheriff waiting to be peeled back and explored.

I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

End Of The Road is Bennett's first novel but, if this book is indicative of her writing ability then this will actually be the beginning of a short road to success. I can't wait to read the next book. She created well-developed, authentic characters and a clever storyline with a surprise ending. The author writes with a clean, crisp style and keeps the reader engaged. This is a great read for the murder mystery lover.

END OF THE ROAD is the perfect romantic mystery. The heroine Corrie Black, owner of the Black Horse Campground, has a love-hate relationship with Sheriff Rick Sutton. Then the handsome JD Wilder appears about the time one of the visitors at the campground is killed. The author skillfully unfolds details about characters and twists the plot until the dramatic conclusion. Early on I suspected the conclusion for a moment, but then was convinced I’d picked up on a stray clue.

This complex whodunit in an RV-park setting will keep you on your toes. The author gives the reader no choice but to suspect each and every character other than Corrie, owner of the Black Horse Campground. And you may never look at a vacationing senior couple again and think "How sweet." I particularly liked the way romance played into the ending.
