Congratulations, Lynley! Finally it's out! I loved beta-reading the various stages and the final one is a wonderful follow-up to Scars!

Review: Rocky left the family’s farm to help his brother move from his cramped apartment to a small house for him and his boyfriend and there child to live. Rocky uses this time off the farm to evaluate himself and his wants. He realized he does not particularly love woman and with his brother out of the closet wonders if he too is gay.

I had expected to feel much more favorably towards this book then I did. It has all the things I like: experienced, loving Dom; a sweet, earnest sub, and secondary character support as they explore together.

Unfortunately, two things really rubbed me, not wrong, but unpleasantly. First, there's a lot of exposition and over talking and over thinking. A lot of time and words devoted to telling minute details of activities. Reiterating thoughts and actions.

Man, I was really looking forward to this after I read Scars. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. Why? Because in my head, during Scars, Landon was a twink. He didn't have any "Dom-ness" so for me, it was really hard to vision him as a Dom in Rocky's Road.

Then there's Rocky, which great he moves to explore, but he questions nothing? I don't know, I didn't want Rocky's first time with a man to be so...I don't know what word I want. I guess I wanted Landon to ease him in

Rocky has realized that he’s probably gay. He is twenty-four and has been denying his needs and desires for so long he can’t even be sure. He has never been with a man. He travels fro Indiana to Maryland to help his brother Jace settle into a new home with his infant son and partner Nathaniel. Rocky plans to use his time in Maryland to explore his sexuality while away from the confines of home. He has four brothers and works on the family farm with them. The family accepted Jace’s coming out ...more

Green, Sir. Please.

This was a very interesting read for me. Though the beginning seemed to move just a tad fast, the story itself was spread out beautifully. I liked Rocky’s inability to verbalize what he wanted. I also loved Landon taking charge and showing Rocky what he could be.

This story is, at the core, about family. Being truthful to yourself and to those you love. Rocky fears rejection, but
