Blue is gang raped at the age of fourteen; two years later he is the foster care of a single mother, a successful doctor, whose twenty year old son Josh falls in love with Blue. At the heart of this book is a very good, and touching story, which is let down by the lack of a decent proof reader / editor even in the second edition, that I read.

Some of the errors are really rather obvious with words missing from sentences, repetition - the reason why Blue refers to Josh's mom as Tom, is explained in the same way, to every character either of them meets - and some formatting issues leading to the point of view changing with nothing to mark it.

Be prepared to have some tissues ready as you read this most wonderfully written tale of an orphan who is abused and tortured beyond belief, only to find a tiny , but growing measure of happiness with a local widowed doctor and her son. Acceptance is hard won by Blue, who struggles with his inner demons to accept the love and family that is being given to him.

Although I enjoyed the story line of this book, I found that the author tended to write the same things over and over again. Almost as if the book had no editor, the same phrase was used over and over again.
However, if the book were tightened up, I think that it would have been a better read.
