"Deep in his heart, Timothy believed everything that had just happened was some sort of miracle and that picking up the disk, simply to be obedient to his grandma, was part of a higher purpose. He wasn't sure what that purpose was, but what he did know was that he couldn't wait to tell his mom." Can God use the little things in our lives-our little acts of obedience-to ...more

Such a sweet children's book of an obscure story in the New Testament. The little fish that held the coin that one of Jesus' disciples pulled from his mouth. What can our children learn from it. That God uses us in our mundane life. We can teach our children that when we are faithful in the little things, God will use it for His glory and ultimately for ours. The illustrations were wonderful. Even in my kindle, the colors just "popped". This gem will bring out conversations with your children ...more

Timothy lived in the Sea of Galilee with his family. He especially loved the stories his grandmother told about the history of their home. Everyday, his job was to clean up the things that didn't belong in their home. What happened the day he found a gold coin?

This is a story of obedience in all things, especially in the little things. Timothy did his job of cleaning up, but the day he found a coin, he also found himself in a net. He also found himself away from his home. Why was he in the net?

I really wanted to love this book, but in the end I found it to be a lacking tale of a fish named Timothy. There was several theological reasons that I gave this book a two star rating and I'll outline those in the paragraph below, but first, I'll go over the parts that I thought the book did well in.

---The character that the fish Timothy portrayed was a good one. It's always delightful to see obedience emphasized. Many people would say "It's just a fish. What does it matter?" but the fact is ch

Timothy: A Little Fish with a Big Purpose by Brad Riley and illustrated by Krystahl Goodale, is published by Vox Dei. It is a children’s book of a mere 28 pages, and my copy is a paperback. It’s a children’s story about a fish, a coin, and miracle.

Timothy is a great little story. You have a cute little fish who is swimming back and forth between his mom and his grandma. He ends up being the little fish in Matthew 17, who has the tax money for Peter and Jesus. The overall point: being faithful in

I have read my fair share of kids' story books. I've read about talking pigs and meandering puppies, about cats with hats and showers of noodles. Christian books come in almost as wide a variety too, from talking vegetables to time travelers and more. But I have never heard of a book about the fish Peter caught for Jesus -- the fish that had money in its mouth, remember? This unique story is what you'll find in "Timothy: A Little Fish with a Big Purpose!"

It takes a pretty imaginative mind to thi

About the Book:

"Deep in his heart, Timothy believed everything that had just happened was some sort of miracle and that picking up the disk, simply to be obedient to his grandma, was part of a higher purpose. He wasn't sure what that purpose was, but what he did know was that he couldn't wait to tell his mom." Can God use the little things in our lives-our little acts of obedience-to serve a higher purpose? Can He do the same with "little people" who trust Him, too?

What child wouldn't love a story about a little yellow fish, named Timothy, who is swimming on his way to visit his Grandma fish, when God uses his simple act of picking up a coin to be a part of one of Jesus' miracles?

The miracle recounted in Matthew 17: 24, 25, and 26 is told as a story in this book.
Details about how much Timothy loves his Grandma (a round, bright pink fish that just looks grandmother-ish!) and about how beautiful their underwater home in the Sea of Galilee is, make this a sto

What a cute little tale that teaches values in a way kids can really identify with! Timothy is a likable little fish who isn't setting out to be a hero; he's just being obedient in the little things, blooming where he is planted. Isn't that what God wants from all of us? I highly recommend this book to all grandparents, parents, and children. That includes everyone, in other words! :) As Jesus said, the kingdom of heaven belongs to children (Mark 10:14)...None of us is too old or too mature to ...more
