Despite the promise of an engaging storyline, set during the Wars of the Roses, the extraordinary amount of errors in the text and the overuse of adverbs and adjectives at every point made this book unreadable; in fact, I could hardly get through the first chapter before placing it to one side.

I wanted to read it, I wanted to like it, but there was no way I could get through this.
I read this as research as I would like to be a M&B author. I think it's a very good example of its genre, and 'does everything it says on the tin', in addition to putting in some accurate historical detail.
