This was so over the top bad, it was like a watching a car wreck. I couldn't stop reading it just to see where it went. First, our heroine was not ravished, she was raped. Way to start a relationship. As things progressed, the author decided to just tell us, not show us how their relationship was growing. It got better in the second half of the book, but it was just too hard to forgive the hero for how their marriage started. Thank God, this was a library book and I only wasted my day reading it ...more

A book that starts with the heroine getting raped by the hero and forced to marry him is bound to be controversial, even hated.
At least he is deeply sorry and apologizes throughout the book. But he does tried to excuse himself by saying he was drunk.
What does not seat well with me is the fact that after she arrives at Tamara she ends up in bed with him again.
After two years he is back a bid changed by war and tries to win back his wife. Another thing I hated, he indirectly mentions his affairs w
One of the favorite books I have read lately. Miss Delphine Cameron is not your average heroine, she's a feisty and enjoyable character to have on staff. I love the two year gap in their relationship, and how everything changed. I loved that she didn't fall straight back into bed with him. The charity work was great, but I thought the end scene with Maisie was a litt ...more
I would pick zero stars if I could. I have enjoyed some of this author's other works but this one was not my cup of tea by a long shot. Starting the book with the heroine getting raped and having to marry her rapist? That was it for me, it ruined the book. I tried to keep reading and get over that being what propelled them together but I just couldn't. Very disappointing!!!!!!!
I couldn't get over the beginning; I almost put it down then and there and not finish it.
