This historical western short story is not one of Ms. Atwood's best. It all seemed too good to be true. I can't say much without giving the whole story away. I thought it was sweet but the story needed to developed more. It was rushed and the relationship was not given any time to develop.

THE MAIL ORDER BRIDE'S QUILT by Leah Atwood was a short but sweet historical romance. I love reading stories about mail order brides going west to marry a stranger and live in a new area of America. They helped tame the west.

In this short (25 pg) story, Jenny decides to answer a "mail order bride ad" from a man named John. Jenny's father was killed during the civil war and her mother had remarried and tragedy stikes again, leaving her without a family.

I don't want to tell the story, it is very s

This short story had an interesting twist in it that's found out around the mid-way point of the book. The story was short, but sweet. Jenny travels West to be a mail-order bride to John. Their romance involves a quilt and their past.

This is a very short story so everything moved very quickly. I suppose it was a good story for one so short but has so much potential as a full length novel. The premise is great and I really liked the characters. If there had been more it would have made more sense.

Sweet story

Sweet story

Enjoyed a short read with wholesome plot and dialogue. Simple read covering almost a year in just a few pages. Nice tribute to simpler more trusting times.

This short story was okay. It had elements of a good story, but it just fell flat. It think if it had been a longer novella it might have worked better. Obstacles in the story were quickly gotten over and the story skips ahead in time twice in 25 pages.

Chose this rating because I so enjoyed the story. If I had my choice I would have liked it to have been a longer story though... Would recommend to anyone that wants a sweet and wholesome love story.

A cute very short story (4 chapters) about a mail order bride and a quilt that connects them. I enjoyed it :) She should write some more.
