Ou seja, logo aqui, esta premissa lança-nos num género thriller/policial histórico, neste caso supostamente histórico pois a o assunto base do livro gira em volta de uma jovem mulher chamada Sophia que terá sido ou considerado como um 2º Messias e que a igreja, na altura, tratou de eliminar aquando do célebre concílio de Niceia.

Pois bem, foi mediante essa premissa que me lancei entusiasti More...

A modern thriller about a female messiah whose existence was covered up by the Catholic church, artwork stolen by Hitler's people, much blackmail and murder, and the couple that is inadvertently in the middle of it all. Some of it, as in Pope Pious XII's denial of the atrocities during the holocaust and Hitler's planned art museum to be filled with the stolen art, are true. Interesting read.

Not a bad religious thriller...suffers from too many characters expositing on history in effect filling in the missing pieces of this narrative based on the idea that the Church hid evidence of a female messiah...some very nice plotting, with a few too many coincidences. But as I said, I liked it and it is a good example of a truly addictive sub-genre.

DoG is a pretty entertaining book, it started really slow but after I got into it the rest of it read pretty easily. It gets compared to the Da Vinci Code for some very obvious plot reasons and while it was worth reading, it just didn't have the same exciting vibe as DVC. If you liked DVC its certainly worth checking out.

I think this is very similiar to The Da Vinci code. There is much intrigue - a mystery that will change the Western World as we know it - and is influenced by the Catholic Church. Interesting idea ---

I keep this one on my shelf. Despite reading 3-4 books each month, I only keep a select few. The subject matter is so intriguing that I couldn't bear to part with it.

I like the writing though I think the author could be a bit more descriptive in some areas, I found my attention wandered so I may have missed some things that would have helped me love the book. This book was terrible. It was a fascinating premise, but the character and plot developments were completely illogical and the writing was excruciatingly poor. I left it at the beach I was so upset.

If I am not mistaken, this book is trying to justify that Jesus Christ has a child with Mary Magadelene and it was a girl. This concept had to originally come from the fiction book, Da Vinci Code.

Tetep 3 bintang... Yaaaah, sebenernya bagus, tapi, kenapa menurutku alur cerita berjalan lambat ya? Tapi tetep kok, I love this kind of story.

Tentang Sophia sendiri... yaaah, Lewis Perdue sendiri udah bilang kalo tokoh ini adalah fiksi alias rekaan sang pengarang. Tapi ck ck ck... Salut deh, bisa kepikir hal seperti ini buat dijadiin novel.

Next, mengenai gender dalam Ketuhanan... iya juga ya, keknya gak ngaruh mau cewek apa cowok, yang paling penting adalah bagaimana keimanan kita terhadap keper More...

A very good novel. It is very balanced in its philosophy. The story though is ok. All in all, it is worth reading and interesting. I liked it.

Um thriller que mistura obras de arte, nazis e segredos da igreja. Uma sinopse que chamava a atenção e interesse sobre Sophia.
A história é o tipo de escrita é o habitual deste tipo de livros, com assassinatos, mistérios e muito acção à mistura, com as personagens envoltas em situações perigosas e a tentarem escapar.
Não sei se é por já estar a ficar um bocadinho cansada de thrillers religiosos ou se foi a história ou os personagens que não me cativaram mas a verdade é que dei por mim, algumas v More...

I almost rated it 5 stars...I won't say why I did not.....anyone looking for book to read, this is one for you.....

on the first section, you'll find it very interesting. it is about religion, conflict, history and love..

Even though it was written before The DaVinci Code (Dan Brown) you can't help but compare both books.

Interesting suspense novel regarding a possible alternative Messiah - Sophia. Excessive violence.

I vaguely remember this as being another da Vinci Code knockoff, but it wasn't half bad.

Not outstanding, but really rather interesting. I think it sucks that people have said it's "like The Da Vinci Code." For one thing, it's NOT like The Da Vinci Code. Not at all. People who think it is have no imagination whatsoever. For another thing, this was published about three or four years BEFORE The Da Vinci Code. So if anything, The Da Vinci Code is like Daughter of God.
