3.5-4 stars!

I’ve been in a book funk lately and since none of the recently released books were appealing to me at the moment, I dug deep into my TBR list and found this little gem. The blurb really grabbed my attention: a mentally disturbed heroine who had not one but two guys in love with her, plus…they’re brothers?! Add in a ghost, a road trip, a mystery, and a lovely second chance romance and I pretty much decided that this would be my next read. Both the plot and writing were compelling and

The Darkest Part was a second chance romance full of emotions, passion, and a slowly unraveling mystery. It was an enthralling and haunting read!

Samantha submerges into deep depression and darkness after losing her fiancé, Tyler in a tragic accident. The future she thought she had is forever gone and what’s worse is it seems Tyler’s ghost takes up visiting Sam, unable or unwilling to move on. Or is he? Could it be that overwhelming sadness has fractured Sam’s mental health or is Sam really havin

Trisha Wolfe does a fine job with this story and I enjoyed the journey. This story is told in alternating povs of Holden and Sam which gives the reader some insight to secrets and feelings from the start of this story.

Sam has lost her best friend/boyfriend due to an “accident” and is struggling without him. Sam’s doctor has prescribed medication to help with her delusions. You see, Sam has contact with her ghost boyfriend, Tyler. (This is not a paranormal story.)

Sam believes that Tyler will sli

Just to clarify, this is a 4.5 rounded up.

I had the worst luck with books lately. I don't have much time to read anymore (a moment of silence for my reading time, please) and so when I finally pick something up I hope to god it's good (I almost had a breakdown yesterday when I read through half of a book only to realize it's a 100% DNF not even worthy of acknowledging I tried to read it).

The Darkest Part was good! I loved the story of second-chance romance for Sam and Holden and how they got ove

5 stars - Brilliant writing & unique storyline makes this one a must read!

I have loved everything I have ever read by Trisha Wolfe and this books was no exception. I was a little nervous with the topic but I shouldn't have worried. Instead, I should have trusted Trisha's writing and her character development. Her characters make choices that make sense with who they are. Love that.

Perhaps I shouldn't have started this on a school night - because I had to force myself to put it down and tr

I don’t even know where to start with this honestly. This is the fourth book I’ve read by Trisha, and although her other books are Fantasy (not my favorite genre) I still love them because she is one hell of a story-teller. I’ve been hoping she would write a contemporary NA, something different that what’s already out there. When she sent me her idea for this book, I loved the dark aspect and the way it deals with mental illness, and I knew this was going to be amazing! I was lucky enough to be

I gave The Darkest part a try because I had read and enjoyed another novel that this author wrote, and because I wanted to read something a little different from what I had been reading all week. This was my first endeavor into the new adult category and I can say that this one at least was not for me. I don't know if all NA is like this, but I'm not used to all of the crude and vulgar language on every single page, pretty much every time one of the characters said or even thought about anything ...more

*** 4 Holden-is-yummylicious-stars !!! ***

“There’re things you can’t tell me. I get that. But I think I deserve to know just one.” She blinks hard, and I watch as fear covers her eyes. “Did you ever love me?”
The world shifts under my feet. And I don’t know if it’s because I’m relieved or angry she asked that. Relieved because she didn’t ask the one thing I can’t tell her, or angry because I’ve wanted to tell her so badly for so long, but if I admit the truth—it means I don’t deserve her.

Oh My Word!
This book is without a doubt utter perfection!

I have been a huge fan of Trisha Wolfe ever since she sent me her fantasy novella, Unveiled, for review I just fell head over heels in love with her writing style and her stories. When she told me she was trying her hand at a NA Contemporary I was beside myself with excitement. I adore contemporary novels and have been on quite a NA kick lately so I couldn't wait to dive into this one.

Here's a good story that draws you in - nicely paced - characters with depth. Trisha Wolfe played with this idea of psychosis versus actual paranormal activity here very well. Nobody was ever quite sure which it was, characters and reader alike.

With the New Adult genre, the characters can get a bit angsty at times. For me, the language here tended to be a bit overmuch. But then you have the plot, which was really good! There were several elements that surprised me. The tension that Wolfe kept un

I have said it before and will say it again, I love Trisha Wolfe. She is an amazing writer who creates these characters that I adore, and never want for them to leave my heart. Her stories leave me breathless, panting, and seriously rooting for the main characters despite the circumstances because they are relatable, they feel and express powerful emotions, and the romances are sizzling. The Darkest Part is no exception to any of this and only increases my level of love for Trish and her writin ...more

When I first read the blurb, I thought I should skip this book. Two brothers love the same girl? No way I want to be involved with a love triangle! But the first three chapters just draw my interest and I want to know what happened to them.

Holden is the character I love the most. I like all three main characters. It is not really a love triangle. Tyler is dead. Sam is losing her mind. Holden has secrets. Their relationship is so complicated that I am not sure how the storyline will end. There ar

I am going to be upfront in my review and not try and play it off that this has a paranormal aspects to it. The heroine in this suffers from psychosis – she thinks she sees her dead boyfriend and that she needs to help him cross over. Of course what really needs to happen is she needs to face what happened and let him go.

There are three main players in this book. Holden and Tyler Marks who are brothers and Sam Wintry, who they have known and lived next to since she was born. They grew up very c

3.5 stars, good but not exactly my favorite.

Mostly because the idea of still clinging with the past, especially a "ghost", is kind of rubbing me in the wrong way. Because I knew it'll never gonna end up happy. But this book, surprisingly, I enjoyed it.

Sam's family is questioning her sanity when she admit that she starts seeing Tyler's ghost. Tyler, her fiance, is dead before they got married. But Sam is sure that she's indeed, seeing Tyler's ghost. And then to make her last goodbye, she decide

Things like this , horrible tragedies they have to have a reason why. Something or someone has to be the cause. Because I can't go on in a world where horrible things happen for no reason at all.

Trisha Wolfe is an amazing author. Her characters are all written so that they become a part of you. You are there in the pages of the book right along with them experiencing every emotion that they are feeling. The highs, the lows, the happy, the sad, the heartbreaking, the love and the heat. There

"The way I see it, the heartwood is strong, beautiful, and resilient. It can fight off any outside threat that tries to invade, and in rare cases... is alive. It may be the darkest part, but a living heartwood is a force to be reckoned with."

This story was definitely not what I expected it to be. Yes, this one's pretty similar to Jasinda Wilder's Falling Into You but it's definitely not the same. Call me a masochist but for some reason, I'm just really drawn to this kind of tragic stories and

This spring, I got to review Of Silver and Beasts by Trisha Wolfe. Guess what? I loved it! It was a book that sealed the deal for me and I now want to make it my life’s mission to read all of Trisha’s books. LOL. I’m slightly kidding, but the truth is not far from it. I wondered what it’d be like if Trish ever wrote a contemporary novel and now I got the chance to explore it first hand.

As much as I'm doing this trip for Tyler, truth is, I'm doing it for me, too. I'm tired of being scared. Sick o

A beautiful, heart-wrenching story about how one event can change the outcome of your life, how one choice can impact another and how you must move on from the past in order to be free.

This follows the story of Sam whose childhood best friend turned boyfriend, Tyler, recently died in a car accident. Reeling from her loss she is considered mentally unstable by those around her as she believes she can still see the boy she lost.

Holden, Tyler's brother, returns in order to discover the truth behin

I don't think it's possible to be disappointed by Trisha Wolfe. I opened this, safe in the knowledge that all I had read before I had liked, and expected good things. I think it's safe to say I got good things. In fact, with such a beautifully emotional story and with characters you just want to hug, I'd go so far as to say I got wonderful things.

Sam was left devastated after her fiancé, Tyler Marks, was killed in a hit-and-run and shocked when she started seeing his ghost. At first disbelieving

HAHA I'm shameless as hell, but fine. (I hate summarising a book, did I ever tell you that? Ugh.) Sam Wintry thought she had it all, the perfect life, the perfect fiance, Tyler Marks. Until he died in a hit-and-run accident. Grief became full-blown i

4.5 out of 5 stars, so I'm rounding up.

I was a little nervous about this one, I have to admit. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to read it, but I was scared that I'd have issues with it.

And at first, I thought my worries were justified. There was no way I was going to be able to get through this story. I was totally crazy about Tyler and my heart was broken for Sam and Holden was just a selfish ass who didn't care about anybody but himself.

Yeah...not so much.

This story rocked my emotional world.

The Darkest Part by Trisha Wolfe was such a beautiful story about first love that is lost and then found, with heartbreak, secrets, finding yourself, and learning how to pick up the pieces when your life doesn't turn out the way you had always planned or thought it would. Ms. Wolfe writes the most beautiful prose. Her words have a poetic quality to them and painted beautiful pictures in my head. This story was difficult for me to read, because it was so realistic of life and the

First off I have to say is I just love Trisha Wolfe's writing skills she is always coming up with something different with her stories. Now on to my review for The Darkest Part. I love that Trisha put the story in 2 point of views to get a idea in both character's heads. First you have Sam she is heartbroken that her best friend/lover Tyler passed away. She starts seeing his ghost and everyone around her thinks she is going crazy. You feel the pain with her on her lost and trying to get back to ...more

I first picked up this book because of the many great reviews I saw for it on Goodreads. I liked the way this book started, I instantly felt connected to the characters and felt for their loss (seriously, I nearly cried by the 3rd chapter). But then the story went in a direction that I really just couldn’t get on board with.

When I first read this books blurb I was like “getting together with your dead finance’s brother? That’s messed up.” But I was intrigued. I read some really good reviews abou

I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have been looking for the type of read that is engaging, well-written, steamy, and emotional. I found all of this in The Darkest Part.

Where to begin with this heart-wrenching read? I loved every minute I spent reading it. It reminded me of why I spend so much of my time reading. What I love most about reading is the journey. I love to get absorbed into the stories and lives of these characters. To get wrapped up in the story s
