audiobook version:

Mamma Mia! This was soooo good. I downloaded this to my MP3 by sheer mistake and boy was I surprised. We listened to this in the car on a four hour trip from Connecticut and all I can say is that I have never had a better ride home!

There are some explicit scenes in this book unsuitable for teens or little old gramma's but the action in this book was non-stop! Lee Child could easily have written this book, it was fast paced and thrilling.

I will definitely be reading more by th...more

I have to admit that I went into this book blind. I’d never heard of Dickey before and I wasn’t sure if I’d be disappointed or not. But I liked it – Dickey’s writing is witty and intelligent. Driver is an appealing character, a perfect portrayal of what can happen to a good man stuck in bad circumstances. I can’t say this was my favorite book…I wasn’t on the edge of my seat often enough for it to claim that kind of status, but I definitely took pleasure from it for what it was: a well-written an...more

(FROM JACKET)"Driver" is an ex-con trying to make his life right but who shares an expensive secret and a past affair with his boss's wife-a woman who is nothing but trouble. Dickey's rich characters jump off the page, making readers feel as if they are present in the hustle-filled pool hall, the bedroom, and the Lincoln Town Car that "Driver" chauffers his wealthy and notorious clients around in. Dickey's millions of readers will be happy to see the reappearance of a femme fatale from "Thieve's...more

This was a really colorful book, both in the langauge & the description of a culture that is not well known by me personally. It definitely held my attention.

One thing I noted was in the earlier part of the novel, there were so many different ways of describing different characters complexions. Not really something I've ever pondered, but then I'm white, not much can be said about me besides that I'm pale. lol

Dickey's books began taking on more complex plots and not just relationship scenarios. His character's pasts became a bit darker and novels more gritty. Driver makes his debut and he is a man on a mission with one helluva dilemma. Panther was hot.....makes me wanna re-read this. lol.

Action packed!!!! Great story with twist after twist. It was definitely a page turner that kept me entertained. I would recommend to all fans of EJD or anyone else who enjoys a very action packed thriller with lots of bumps along the way.

I really enjoyed the book. This the first book of his that I have read. I found the characters to be very well developed. The story which is not new was told in a way that was different enough to hold my interest.

This was on Audio. It was pretty good! It introduced Arizona, a character in the Gideon series. I like how Dickey uses his characters in different novels - excellent writer!
