Intrigue and subterfuge run rampant in this very heated novel. Huffman takes you on a wild ride with twists and turns galore. Everything melds so seamlessly together that you can’t help but get drawn along with the fast paced action of this well written tale. This story definitely made me laugh and gasp in turn. Not only is this story action packed, it’s also very emotionally charged. Huffman adds a bit of everything to this story so that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Not my cup of tea. I received this book from the publisher as an early reviewer book. It's not a book that I would pick up at a book store, but I wanted to read it and give an honest assessment. I did manage to finish it, but I must admit that I skimmed through a lot of pages. The book is very simplistically written, and the characters are not realistic, but very wooden and robotic. None of them display any real personality traits and even the sex scenes (of which there are many in this little b ...more

Cody awoke from the dream calling Caitlyn.

Cat awoke and looked around. It felt like Cody was there with her.

Caitlyn had been "killed", only to come back as Cat. Cat, Ella, her best friend, and Jack, Cat's brother, had faked their deaths. She went to work for Chameleon, a black ops government organization. She now considered herself an avenger. Her current mission was to rescue an agent that had been taken by the Barrera drug family. But someone had other plans for her.

Cat was being sent to New O

Fast paced and full of suspense, humor, and dynamic characters. I devoured this book. Heather Huffman has an engaging style that sucks the reader into the story and places you right beside the characters throughout the book.

Cat is the strongest main female character I've come across in a very long time. I mean, she's the leader of a black ops team, for crying out loud. Can't get much stronger than that. Cody, the main male character, is definitely an alpha. He is also strong enough and secure e

From the first chapter of Throwaway, the first book of Heather Huffman's that I read, she has held me captive with her writing. Fool's Game did not disappoint.

The story pulled me in the the first time I read it, as an Advance Reader Copy. The second read through, after its release, held me captive just the same. Even though I knew what happened I still found myself up far too late because I could not put it down. Suspense, humor, love and lust, friendship and deeper issues make this book grippin

I'm fairly disappointed that I didn't like this book more. It's my least favorite Heather Huffman book, but they can't all be favorites right? My major issue with it was possibly just formatting. It seemed to speed along too quickly in parts, where simple spacing would have broken it up a bit and not taken a bit to realize that the scene had changed. I liked the story over all, but some parts had too much detail where others didn't have enough. I would have like to see a little more balance

When I heard that Heather Huffman was releasing a new book, I freaked out! Why? Because out of her books I've read so far, I've absolutely loved all of them. And then I found out that this one is about Cody Kingsley! For those of you who don't know, Cody was a character in Heather's previous book, Roses in Ecuador. He really fascinated me in that novel, so I was extremely eager to read his story. And don't worry, these are all standalone books, so you can defini

This book was a great read! It is the first novel that I have read by Heather Huffman, and I have to say that it was very enjoyable.

Cat is a black-ops agent that works for the secret organization, Chameleon. She is a highly trained agent that tracks and takes down the baddest criminals in town. Things are going pretty well as she approaches a big bust on one of the most notorious drug dealers in town, but then Cat discovers that someone from inside of her agency has targeted her for assassinati

Fool's Game has the perfect blend of espionage, action and romance to be considered for the next 007 film, with Cat in the role of the Alpha female. I have made no secret about enjoying books which have a strong lead woman with a heart, and Caitlyn O'Rourke is exactly that! Cat has focus, a skill-set and knowledge most spies would kill for, she is ruthless and knows how to use her beauty to her advantage, but she is in love, she is just afr

Danger, mystery, humor, and love... What could be bad? I have yet to read one of Heather Huffman's books and not love it, and Fool's Game does not disappoint. I also think it's great how each book is independent yet characters are tied to each other between books. I always look forward to seeing which old friends I'll see in the next book. Read any of hers, you won't be disappointed (I think Throwaway is still a personal fave, though).

This is the seventh book by Heather Huffman that I've read, and I enjoy her writing. This is sort of a romance/spy thriller hybrid.

Cat is a spy, part of a top-secret operation along with her brother (Jack) and BFF (Ella). Cody is a senator, he and Cat have a romantic history.

The book moved pretty quickly, I didn't feel like it dragged at all. The romance was engaging and I enjoyed the banter between Cat and Cody (as well as Ella and Jack's romance). The thriller part stretched believability a bi

If you are a fan of Heather Huffman, you'll like this one. It is fun to see characters show up in different books. There is the same combination of romance, suspense, and humor that we have come to expect. I did have a bit of trouble getting into this one at first. I didn't really understand the characters. I didn't get what happened between them and what was keeping them apart. Things eventually become more clear although I still don't really get Cody. I liked seeing Cat in action. Fun, action- ...more

Fools Game by Heather Huffman was a fun book to read. I decided to review this book because I love a good mystery/romance book and this one didn't let me down. I loved Cat and how she was because I believe on some level all women what be like she is and have the confidence that she has. I really liked Cody as well right from the start but there were times when he got on my nerves and I am not sure why. I have to say all in all I really loved this book and I am going to check out more books by He ...more

This was an easy, fun, romantic read. Kind of a "mission impossible" type of story. Cat was unrealistic, but that's the nature of this "007" kind of story. The characters were likable, and the romance was fun. The love scenes were quite vague, so not too much steam, and not much language. Overall, I would definitely read more from this author.

This book is amazing! Another great book by Heather! I can not wait to read her next one! One of my favorite things is that this book is a stand alone book, but it incorporates characters from other books too!

Heather Huffman calls the beautiful Missouri Ozarks home. When not writing, this homesteading mother is busy raising three boys or tending the family’s myriad of animals, which includes alpacas, goats, chickens and ducks. Huffman’s optimistic and somewhat quirky view of life often finds its way into her novels.

Heather is the author of ten novels, including Throwaway, Jailbird, and her latest relea
