You know why I gave this book one star? Because I could NOT figure out, for the life of me, what the HEL7 was going on most of the time!

What? Huh? dump him because he won't share his heritage NOR his name with you. He marries someone else very quickly after, and HE is the injured party?

Oh, I see. So...he was going to what?? Eventually, he WAS going to kick her to the curb by his own admission of the deathbed promise he made to his father. Yet, he faults her for standing up for herself
The rating is not a reflection on the writing but the story.

I read this book a few months back and decided to reread to see if it improved on second reading. It didn't. Infact I downrated it from 2 stars to 1.

My favourite trope is that of the rejected heroine whom the hero tries to win again, especially if he's been married in between. Oooh the angst of it is just deliciously appealing....i know i know..I shouldn't be able to taste the angst but I tell you I can.

Anyway look away now if you don
Read this quite a while ago. The hero wouldn't marry the heroine no matter what she said or did. So rather than being a mistress to the hero she leaves. Only for the hero to pick someone from his cherokee culture and marry her. After the hero's marriage doesn't work out, he comes back after the heroine. Only thing is the heroine is aware of the facts and she's not too sure she ever wants to risk her heart again!
