Sam may be the Iblis, but she is also an imp with a price on her head. The powerful demon, Haagenti, won’t rest until she’s dragged back to Hel for “punishment”. Sam knows she can’t face Haagenti and win, so when an Elf Lord offers to eliminate the demon in return for her help, Sam accepts. It’s a simple job – find and retrieve a h

Well, I read 3 of these back-to-back and I think it’s time for a break. I didn’t care for this one as much as the first two. It wasn’t bad by any means, but I found myself getting annoyed with Sam a lot more.

The pacing seemed a little off and I found some sections repetitive. The title leads you to believe there’s a lot of “elf” stuff going on, but it almost seemed like a subplot until the last 25% or so. That didn’t bother me really since I don’t overly care about elves unless they look like Or

STARS

Oh, how I love this relatively unknown series. It’s a gem that intend to re-read several times.

Sam is a minor imp, used to flying under the demon and angel radar, leaving her free to enjoy her extended (40 year) vacation Earth.

By becoming the Iblis, (unwillingly) there are no more rocks to hide under. What’s worse, both heaven and Hel(l) resent her new status as much as she does. As a bound demon, angelic bureaucracy, with 200 pages long kill reports with strict deadlines and hellish punis

So good! I'm addicted.

(The scene with Sam and the angels in the conference room has to be one of the most hilarious scenes I've ever had the pleasure of reading!)

3,50 Transition stars

This is clearly a transition book. Once again the pacing was really odd, alternating between impossibly complicated dangers and character's internal turmoil reflections. The plot revolves around the threat from Haagenti and the Elf mission to retrieve a possible elf-demon hybrid baby.

The blood feud and the constant attacks from Haagenti were really too long drawn and the fighting scene felt like way too late and too short to release the tension of such a procrastinated smack

This is the third book in the series and possibly my favorite so far. Not many authors could pull off making a fun and enjoyable character you can actually relate to when they are a demon, but Debra Dunbar does it extremely well with her series. Oh, sure, Sam does some rotten things as we’ve seen from previous books like make a whole bar full of people crave hot wings for a week or toss gum on the ground with the hope someone will step on it. Let’s not even get into the time she made a human ...more

I'm torn between 4 and 5

I really, really like this series. One thing I have noticed is that the books always start with several things going on in Sam life and you never are sure which way the story is going to go. Some of it is just seeing how Sam's life is, like figuring out the ruling council. But this isn't the main plot, neither is the elves and politics though I'm sure those will come back to mean a lot. The demon that is after her, is a big part and one of the main plots, which was a side

3.5 stars. I'm enjoying this series very much. Imp Samantha is really coming into her Iblis role, and her sense of right and wrong is getting stronger, thanks to Wyatt. She has several tasks ahead of her in this one - elude Haagenti, find an Elven-demon hybrid, and assume her Iblis responsibilities. There's not a dull moment for her!

My only issue with Elven Blood was with the numerous punctuation and grammatical mistakes. The author definitely needs to find a better editor, because the errors we

Much more Gregory in this book, but still not nearly enough :)

Sam is on quite a few missions, she has reluctantly signed on to be of some assistance to several elves in return for a favor. The favor is supposed to be their aid in killing Haagenti, who has been making her earth life, as well as Wyatt's, hell (haha). Demons come pretty much every other day to both her and Wyatt's homes trying to kill them, so the situation is in desperate need of a final solution. Which is why Sam decides to help

I love this series. I did not think something could triumph the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, but I was wrong.

""What the heck? I was the Department of State now? Should I send out regular alerts? The Iblis advises all demons not to fuck any elves. The Iblis advises all demons that the elf lord in Wythyn is a total asshole.

This picks up where book 2 ends and poor Sam has a lot on her plate now that she's the Iblis! For one reason or another our fun trouble making imp has started to develop a conscience. While that's great and all and probably necessary for Sam...it does kind of kill the humor of her antics. I suspect she'll be back in full demon trouble causing form soon enough though. Really though I can't speak highly enough of these books and if you like PNR or UF I think you'd love these!

This was a really enjoyable book. Easy relateable characters and a plot that was paced right making it hard to put down. Obvious by they fact that I read it on my day off! Will now have to look for the other books in the series!

There was a lot of repetition in this book, but the plot was good, and this kind of evil...

Much less entertaining than the previous book, but not bad. Sometimes though, the "moving the story forward through sheer stupidity" type of storytelling pops up its ugly head. Hopefully, it was just a momentary slip and this series won't drop that low.

Excellent book!

This series just keeps getting better and better as I keep reading. This imp is a weird blend of lovable imp and yet hilariously psycho at times. If you want a good story, this is one you need to read.

3.75* enjoyed but story didn't seem to advance much...seemed to meander a bit. Still continuing with the series as I am still enjoying...if the next isn't noticeably better may not continue.

Still great!

I really enjoy this universe. I find it interesting and original. Angels that are not perfect and a Demon that struggles with ethics? More characters are introduced with each book making the story become more and more complex.

another great book in the series the only thing that really bothered me what's the fact that a she got knocked out by three teenage boys it just seemed unlikely to me. Shes battles powerful demons but then cant take a bonk to the head?

Having been chosen by an ancient artifact, Sam is now the Iblis, or in other words Ha-satan. This is a role that no one in hell wants, including Sam, causing her to wonder if her infamous lucky streak is now at an end. Unfortunately for Sam, this means that she now has to meet with angels as a member of the angel counsel and as luck or in her case bad luck would have it, this means copious amounts of paperwork, something the trouble loving imp is not the least bit fond of. To make matters worse, ...more

Well! That certainly started off my new year of reading with a bang! I've very much enjoyed the first two books in the Imp series, but Elven Blood may be the best book yet. Maybe it's partly because the first two books have me deeply invested in Samantha already, but I also feel like this was a solid story with plenty of twists and turns, many of them pleasantly surprising.

Samantha is now the Ha-Satan, but the demons of Hel aren't exactly bowing down to her authoritai. Actually, one in particula

This is a delightful romp of a book. I just finished the first three books and I'm ready for another. Almost Arthurian in structure, I find myself rooting for Sam as she denies her human-ness, denies her sword, battles enemies who force her to use her sword, and discovers her human-ness and her crown as Ibliss. Despite this rather heavy review, it had me constantly laughing. Antics such as slinging demon heads through the angels' gate and trying to deal with her Succubus sister's pheromones and ...more

I was looking forward to reading this book and finding out how Samantha deals with Haangentis. That demon really deserved a good seeing to. The offer of an Elf Lord was first made in the previous book at the vampires’ hotel. Sam was approached and it was hinted that the Elf Lord would help Sam with one of her burdens so we had an idea of what this book would be about.

The job itself was simple and pretty straightforward – find the demon/elf hybrid. As always, other characters and events interfere

Sam has her hands full. She is the Iblis, a demon wants her back in Hel to be punished, she has to deal with Angels and doing what they want, do a mission for an Elf Lord and find away to be human enough for her human boyfriend. She has a lot going on and time is ticking down. She has so many people wanting things done right now and stuff she needs to do. Having a house guest oozing sex isn't helping either. She has some tough decisions to make and she will need to prove to everyone she is the ...more

I loved this book series! But, I've stopped reading them because:

1. Mostly because a whole lot of nothing happens with the characters I care about. Most of this book was spent on a storyline in which the heroine travels to Hel for work related stuff. It basically felt like I was reading about someone's work day. It was super boring and barely kept my interest.

2. Her human bf is an absolutely ridiculous part of the storyline IMO. It's stupid and takes away from her as a character. I know he is t

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! It was a wicked fun read full of every fantastical being you could think of! The main character Sam is an Imp hiding out as a human who just happened to gain the title of the Iblis that kind of makes her the leader of all the demons. Unfortunately they don't seem to see it that way and are constantly trying to take her out.
Between fighting off the demons, dealing with the Elves, and having to control her impish nature so not to make the Angels angry Sam barely has time
