What can you find in this book?

Cheating, cheating and cheating. Did I mention cheating? Of course the betrayal is there too. It seems that if someone wasn't cheating or been cheated was betraying someone. Morgan, Carter and Ana were selfish, some more, some less. In the end I never really understood how Carter and Morgan ended up together.

The low rating is due to the flawed characters that never became better, my inability to see the connection bet

I received an ARC of this from the author in return for my honest opinion.

This had all the ingredients for a really good story, but it didn't really work for me.

The biggest issue for me was the male protagonist, Carter. He was impossible to like. Yes so he was good looking and sexy etc but he was a player and he was ruthlessly ambitious too. I didn't have any confidence that he meant anything he said and because of that, I really didn't want Morgan to get together with him. They only seemed to b

" Bliss", had a little of everything, love, death, adultery , angst and a fairly happy ending, but I wanted more! I wanted to learn more info about Carter , I would have liked maybe an epilogue giving me more info on Morgan and Carter.

The book opens on Morgan having sex with her grief counselor , do not judge, both have lost their spouses and are having a hard time moving on, for Morgan, moving on is a dual challenge not only is she having an emo

Carter F’ing Sterling. That could just about sum up my review right now, but let’s start again.

This an emotionally charged novel that takes both its readers and its characters through the ringer and back again. Self-discovery is paramount, but it is interspersed with the worst side of relationships. Love does conquer all, but holy hell Hannah it’s one hell of a ride to get there, even if it is brief.

West creates a world that you find yourself trapped in, even if you want to climb out. The emoti

Morgan is suffering through the grieving process after the passing of her husband. The man that she thought was perfect. Trying to move on, but not willing to let go of the past. She wants to find love again - she wants to feel like she did when Eric was alive. When she meets Carter she feels a connection, but that connection is complicated by the fact that he is dating her friend. Carter has goals he needs to achieve in order to deal wi

This book was given to me in return for an honest review!! Well I honesty loved it. I woke up at 2:00 am on Sunday morning just so I could finish it. Morgan is a broken widow and Carter is a somewhat damaged "player" they meet and man oh man do the sparks fly. The writing is superb and the story is all sorts of angsty and sexy. This book is an awesome read. Even though its not as long as most books I read Ms. West is able to give the characters all the detail needed to keep this girl turning pag ...more

She is traumatised understandably, and after recovering just enough to breath, she is dealt another blow that destroyed everything she believed him to be.

When i first starter reading this book was really into it, then all the cheating starter i was skeptical about where this book was going, but i love Morgan even though sometimes i just want to slap her (lol ).One of the main reasons what i really enjoy this book is this sounds some much like real life out there, we may not want to see it but is all around us and i like that concept that the author was trying to show us in this book.Who wants a cheating husband or

This was deeper than I expected. To love someone so deeply...someone you believed was perfect and that your marriage was perfect then loose them in a car accident is devastating. But after nine months of grieving then to learn hewas cheating is shattering and it only gets worse. This book deals with the after effects of loss...dealing with these truths and how Morgan gets on with her life. To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect...but it was really a good book. Carter Sterling....Nuff said? :) Carter Sterling is a sexy player with tattoos!! Gotta love a guy with tattoos. Morgan is a broken widow and has to come to terms with some stuff from her marriage, Carter is a damaged player and when they meet the sparks do fly. They fight the attraction at first, but eventually give in. I honestly loved this book. Read it in a few hours and really enjoyed the characters and story. Other than the subject matter, I found the story fine and the writing too. I'd happily read more of Maven's books.

Thanks for offering me an ARC Maven!!

This was okay. It is about love, loss, lies and betrayal. I really wished that this story was fleshed out more. I wished that there was an epilogue. I hated the way it ended, left me unsatisfied.

Morgan was married to the love of her life, Eric, for 3 years before he was killed in a tragic car accident. Morgan thought she had the perfect marriage and is having trouble moving on now that he is gone.

When Morgan goes out one night she meets Carter Sterling. Carter is your typical player but happens to be seeing her friend Ana. The sparks fly between them almost instantly. Will Morgan be able to overcome the emptiness that she is feeling? Will she be able to trust another man enough to let

I received this book from the author for an honest review. This is a sad story with death, cheating, trying to find a reason to get out of being depressed about a death of your love... It starts out where Morgan looses her loving husband Eric in a car accident. Morgan starts seeing a shrink to help her thru her depression of loosing her love of her. Her shrink John also is grieving his wife but wants/does help Morgan with her depression along with getting in her pants... Ann is a friend of Morga ...more

I received a copy of Bliss in exchange for an honest review.

When we meet Morgan, she's trying to deal with her grief over her husband Eric's death that happened a few months earlier, when he was in a car accident. He was the love of her life, her definition of a perfect man and a perfect relationship. She feels empty and is trying desperately to fill the void with something, anything, and often has meaningless sex. Most recently, she's had sex with Jon, her grief counselor, who is dealing with

So...this one started out good (and why it is 2 stars and not 1). I was interested in how Morgan would go from upset widow who is doing her grief counselor to wanting to be with her BFF's boyfriend. Then we meet Carter, who yes has that bad boy, British, tattooed hotness. There are several problems I had with this book.

First, Morgan and Ana's friendship doesn't feel feasible to me. It sounds like Morgan doesn't really like Ana, so it sort of confused me as

First the premise of the story was good. Morgan is a very young widow. She lost her husband in an accident and he was the love of her life, nobody can or will ever measure up. She's trying to move on with her life but is stagnant, just going through the motions. She's going to her grief meetings and she has a special relationship with her counselor. He's trying to help her in more ways than one. She has friends who try to help her move forward. Well it's on this one occasion that she is out with ...more

The story of Morgan is a sad one having just lost her husband and trying to move on. She's having a difficult time moving on- she longs to find what she has lost. I must admit I had difficulty getting into to story as I was reading. I felt for Morgan and her pain I just felt I needed more to truly understand her. Her relationship with Ana was odd being best friends and giving off vibes of not liking one another I didn't get it. I understood Carter's appeal and how he made Morgan feel, but I want ...more

Arr review: I understood the premise of the book but the way it was written, it wasn't that great at all.

I could get what Morgan was feeling. Carter I didn't.

Carter & Ana - I don't understand why they were together at all. Why Ana was marrying Carter, when she didn't love him. That wasn't explained very well. Carter wasn't written at all, why he was marrying Ana. He was fd up but I still could understand him at all.

Morgan - why did she allow Cater to dictate not to tell Ana what she found

Morgan found her Prince Charming and after a few years of marriage he was taken from her in an accident. How do you become okay with replacing someone that you have put so high on a pedestal? How can anyone measure up? After a year of grieving and not finding anyone that can measure up to Eric, Morgan goes out with her friend Ana and meets Ana's new guy named Carter. Instantly she is attracted to him but doesn't know what to do since he is dating her best friend. What is she willing to do to try ...more

Morgan is a widow who is having a hard time dealing with her husband's death (though he died 9 months ago) and everyone thinks she should have moved on by now. She is in grief counseling, but sleeping with her counselor probably isn't the best way to deal with her grief.

I enjoyed this book overall. I felt like it was a good storyline an grabbed me from the beginning. The book starts out sad and we are introduced to Morgan who lost her husband, her seemingly perfect husband. Morgan is just surviving until she meets Carter. I enjoyed this story but really wanted more. Morgan is dealing with the death of her husband, the love of her life, and like many people finds it hard to move on from this love. Her friend Ana provides great distractions for her by getting her out to clubs. Ana then introduces her to Carter Sterling, a man Ana just started dating yet Ana is notorious for random hook-ups. Morgan feels an attraction to Carter which she doesn't want to acknowledge. Carter doesn't do relationships. Well, there are s ...more

“I wiped my face with my napkin. “What made you want to become an actor?”
I was sure he was going to tell me something pompous like he was born to play the role. Or that he wanted to get all the woman. So I waited.
“Me.” He bit his lip, but his eyes didn’t meet mine. “I got sick of failing and being told I would never amount to shit back home my entire life.”
I rubbed the back of my neck. This wasn’t what I expected to hear.
“I’ve fucked up royally and I have been fucked royally.” There was a tightness in his eyes, the emotion crawled up his entire body. “And no I don’t want your pity.”
I fidgeted in my chair. I didn’t know what to say. “I understand.”
Our eyes met, and for a split second Carter looked as if he was considering believing me. He blew out a noisy breath of air. “The fuck you do.”
“He leaned back in his seat throwing his hands behind his head; sort of an open offer for the entire bar to get a good look at what he was working with and it was quite impressive. God why did he have to have tattoos? Or the killer smile he was so blatantly using as foreplay. And since when did smiling at a girl count as foreplay? I wasn't sure but I guess Carter was the one living man capable of this.” 1 likes
