Almost 3 Stars...I liked it.
But...

I just can't stand (or stomach) when authors writing in this time period places women with multiple men (3 in this case); whether the circumstance is rape or not, within a month (or a little more) time frame. I'm sorry...it's just gross, and it grosses me out to the max.
And to make it worse...Charity just had a baby.
I really liked the characters and the storyline, but I just coul More...

Set in 1870 Texas, this book starts out when the hero, trapped by a snowstorm, stumbles upon the heroine's home while she is in midlabor (with her dead husband's child)! He's on the run, with a bounty on his head, but decides to stick around to help the poor babe survive since his mama is no shape to care for him.
